If the program is a success I wouldn’t be surprised if the drops will become a bit cheaper as well. Fingers crossed, because I’d love to give the Meze 99 Noirs a try. However I’m not that interested as I was with the HD6XX to import them from the States. :)

I paid EUR 188,00 for the headphones and EUR 53,00 for the taxes etc so EUR 241,00 in total. The cheapest price for the HD650 is EUR 320,00.

Noticed it as well. The price bump shouldn’t withhold you purchasing it imo. it’s still a bargain. Even if you’re from the EU as I am.

I got your point, however I can imagine that people prefer different settings for different types of music. In those situations it might be cheaper to make use of EQ instead of purchasing different headphones for each type of music.

I don’t, but I’m thinking about purchasing the Schiit Loki (or something similar) for some analogue fine tuning. If someone has a recommendation for any good budget EQ other than the Loki, available in NL/EU, please let me know!

Maybe my ears are not that experienced, but my rHead sounded great out of the box without any burn in and I haven't noted any improvement (or decline) since then.

I do experience this same feeling with the original pads, but thought it would be due to the clamping force of new headphones (just have mine for about six weeks). Didn't it get better over time for you? Nice looking amp btw. What is it?

I've been told when entering the sliding slope of head-fi that it was recommended to start with a solid state amp if it's your first and only amp, since it doesn't colour the sound. You don't agree or is the Vali 2 not that colored since it is a hybrid amp?

I just saw a video of Joshua Valour about pad chancing and was wondering if you have experience with pad changing on the HD650/HD6XX and whether or not you would recommend this.

Does it matter if you use USB-C or the regular USB type? I use a Mac > Modi 3 > rHead > HD6XX and if I don’t listen to any music the headphones stay totally silent with no background noises..
