Any way for volume normalization with A&K SP1000?

I am trying to find a way to replace my desk-fi music source from laptop+ Foobar 2000 to my portable DAP. However, A&K SP1000 has no volume normalize function in it which makes it impossible to use it as a player because the output volume differences are so big even at the maximum volume...

    Best Amp + Dac for HD800 S

I also used to pair my HD800S with HD-DAC1 before moving on to HDV820. The main difference between DAC1 and AMP1 is the latter literally is more of amplifier than DAC. It can even amplify passive bookshelf speakers while DAC1 cannot.

Help needed: What would be the best DAC at under $5k?

I am running Adam Audio A77X through Sennheiser Headphone Amp/DAC HDV820 together with HD800S. I don't use network streaming. Headphone amplifier function is not essential as I am willing to keep HDV820 if necessary even if I get another DAC. Reviews of dCS Bartok sound very much interesting...

    Best Amp + Dac for HD800 S

I also have no complaints whatsoever with my HDV820 + HD800S pairing. Just about perfect. My question is am I doing justice to my Adam Audio A77X by pairing them with HDV820 as DAC. I use either Foobar/USB or SP1000/optical line out to HDV 820 but I am constantly tempted to the idea of adding...

HDV 820 vs Matrix Element X

Thanks for the advice. Will do the test this weekend. I gave the Marantz to my friend as soon as I got HDV820 and being a foreigner here in Indonesia, I have no source/route to dispose of the HDV820 locally even if I add up Element X or Sabre Pro...It will have to wait till I return home...

HDV 820 vs Matrix Element X

That and the balaced XLR output was the whole point of buying HDV820 although I was perfectly happy with the Marantz with HD800S. My new drooling for a DAC this time is since I have the studio monitor speakers which I like so much, I keep wondering what if I am not doing justice to the amazing...

HDV 820 vs Matrix Element X

Appreciate it very much. Will follow your advice and see how it turns out. However, I am not that "crazy" about whether I can tell any difference from each different sonic range or pitch or whatever, My ears and brain for music are too subjective to dig into such minute level. I gather from...

HDV 820 vs Matrix Element X

Hello to fellow audiophiles out there. After upgrading my headphone from T5P 2nd to Sennheiser HD800S, I've changed my headphone amp/dac to HDV 820 from the good old Marantz HD DAC1. Lately, I've added Adam Audio A77X monitor speakers pairing them with HDV 820 as DAC. So far, I am utterly...

    Matrix Audio X-Sabre Pro

I am a Korean living in Indonesia at a house company provided and I don't want to spend any money on the room acoustic. Almost made up my mind to go for Matrix X-Sabre Pro (not MQA). Never heard about HQ Player. Let me check it out. Thank you for the inputs made!

    Matrix Audio X-Sabre Pro

For this, I am thinking of getting Element X for my below setting. Currently, my studio monitors are paired with Sennheiser HDV 820 but lately I feel the A77X could even further surprise me if I hook them up with a more proper DAC. My question is will it worth the price tag even if I don't use...

    Which bookshelf speaker?

Thanks but I am not considering an upgrade from the Elac active speakers I have.

    Which bookshelf speaker?

Thank you very much for the information. Yes, I was also more or less leaning toward Sopra. The two alternatives you recommended never popped up on my radar. I will definitely look them up. Thanks again.

    Which bookshelf speaker?

Sorry if this is OOT for this forum but I am considering an expansion of my No.1 pastime's environment by adding a high end bookshelf speaker with an integrated amplifier to my current HD800S and an active speaker set. Both speakers I am drooling over at the moment are slightly above my budget...

McIntosh MHA150 with Dynaudio Special Forty

I've been sitting on he fence between changing my HD800S with Audeze LCD-4z and adding instead a bookshelf speaker. Lately I am leaning toward pairing McIntosh MHA 150 headphone amp (50W, 8 ohms speaker impedance) with Dynaudio Special Forty keeping my HD800S. I am wondering if anyone out there...

    Campfire - Solaris

Like the taping done over the athletes' sore muscles (to reduce any unwanted vibration, so to speak.) Hey fokta, perhaps we can meet up somewhere at Mega Kuningan during the next weekend? I'd love to have a chance to compare the Solaris with my Andro S and learn from your rich source of...

Hopefully it would be up on the market in time for the summer solstice then. On a serious note, has anyone here had a chance to compare Noble Audio Khan with Solaris while at Can Jam? I read some interesting personal (subjective) reviews on Khan from the other threads and wonder...

    Headphone Amp/DAC + Integrated Amp+ passive Speaker?

Not to get me wrong is the sound I get from the current active speaker which is connected to my laptop through HDV 820 DAC/AMP is quite remarkable for what it's worth in terms of cost involved. I was simply wondering whether or not it will boost the overall performance if I add up HDV 820 to the...

    Headphone Amp/DAC + Integrated Amp+ passive Speaker?

Actually, below is how my desk looks like at the moment. I just thought shifting to passive speakers from a well known speaker producer like B&W matched with a decent integrated amplifier might change the whole sound I get from below $300 something local brand active speaker. My original...

    Headphone Amp/DAC + Integrated Amp+ passive Speaker?

Hi. This may sound stupid but I have a novice question. I am thinking of expanding my head-fi environment to a humble PC-fi by adding a passive bookshelf speaker (B&W 606, for example) with an integrated amplifier. Currently listening through Foobar 2000 + Sennheiser HDV 820 with HD 800S...
