Bang & Olufsen BeoPlay H6 Discussion Thread

Has anyone played around with the newer offerings from B&O? I know historically these are a sort of unicorn from the company, but with the pads being discontinued it's just a matter of time before we're all stuck with beautiful drivers and headphones with ratty worn-out pads. Short story long...

Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless - New ear pads to improve bass?

Bear in mind I have amiron home but the yokes are identical and clearly so is the issue.

Beyerdynamic Amiron Wireless - New ear pads to improve bass?

worked a treat for me, I've been using them ever since and with both factory and dekoni pads they seal beautifully. It does not take much!!!!! just a couple degrees on each side and they feel just like every other Beyer. I can post a pic if you'd like to see where I landed.

Beyerdynamic Amiron Home (the new T90)

I keep my Amiron Home, DT1990, and T1.2 all next to each other - it's a lovely trio and I hope I never have to sell any of them!

appreciate it brother, it's not too much moolah - just enough for me to be more comfortable parting with some nonessentials to cover it lol

    New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)

Sorry for the late reply, I somehow never saw your question! I use these on all my headphones, unfortunately I forget which size I have on them but they do hold up well, keep my headbands in good shape, and definitely reduce hot spots.

regardless of the reason behind it, lack of MQA is a pro to some of us.

    AKG K361/K371

fwiw I purchased a low-usage pair (edit: K371) from reddit and found them very mid-focused, they reminded me A LOT of my HD6x0 series but with a big hole in the bass region. I thought this was odd, as I’d read complaints of how heavy-handed the bass was on these so I ordered brand new pair from...

    New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)

I use a jotunheim 2 & euphonika h4 OTL at home; the H4 definitely increases the soundstage of the Tesla drivers but for some reason I just gravitate towards my SS amps.

    New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)

I designed it and had a local woodworker build it for me, thanks for noticing :)

    New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)

Agree with you there, I've decided that the tesla driver is just flat-out my favorite. Having owned the Elex, Clear, LCD-X (2021), and Auteur - I just kept coming back to my DT1990s. So I was elated to find the T1.2 on sale for $500 and it is now my new #1, sharing a shelf with my Amiron and...

    New Beyerdynamic T1 (2nd Generation)

Beyerdynamic US is selling T1.2 Black Edition refurbs on Amazon for $499. I picked one up and the headphone is flawless, including all original materials and even the little plastic covers for the cable. I had previously owned the A&K T1p and this handily outclasses it. As of now there are 16 left.

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

I think the choice should come down to fenestrated vs velour, if I'm not mistaken. Not much love for the suede or hybrids with the 1990s

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

I would recommend either a pad swap to Dekonis or use the Amiron foam, but definitely not both. I'd be curious to know how they compare with just the Elite Velour pads and the stock foam.

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

I have only tried the stock pads and the Elite Velours, but I have no interest in trying any of the others out after putting the velour pads on mine. They give a slight bass boost and really tame that treble spike turning them into just an incredibly enjoyable pair of headphones. edit: velour pads

iFi audio hip-dac 2: just the tonic for headphone fans

I'd feel much better about running tandem cables if there were a battery bypass button.

    Earbuds Round-Up

Easy recommendation: Yincrow RW-9, I may be on the wrong side of history with this one but I much prefer it over the X6. It feels more refined to me, and does not lack for bass. The FAAEALs do soundstage and mids/treble remarkably well for their pricepoint. Either the Snow Lotus or the Iris CE...

iFi audio hip-dac 2: just the tonic for headphone fans

Still battery power only? At launch the original Hip Dac was supposed to be able to run bus-powered which made it perfect for many of us who like small transportable devices which can be used for both laptops/tablets and phones. Battery-only is a pretty big drawback for me as I only use mine...

Sennheiser HD660S... Finally a successor for the HD650?

I just received my 660s this week and after having spent some time with them, I would agree with the many folks who have called this a 600/650 alternative instead of replacement. I keep the 6XX at my bedside as the frequency response is perfect for relaxing (to me) and the 660s, while incredibly...

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

Grab a pair of Dekoni Velour pads if you can find somewhere in your country with a reasonable return policy (just in case they don't suit you). They absolutely turned these into my favorite headphone, I really cannot recommend them strongly enough :) *not affiliated* lol

    Beyerdynamic DT 1990 PRO - Beyer's open-back mastering headphone

Those are DT770/880/990 pads if I'm not mistaken, and very possibly not actually Beyerdynamic pads. Between the pads and box both being incorrect, it definitely smells fishy; if it were me I would definitely return these and try again. The 1990s are an incredible headphone, I would not want my...
