Shout out to Shure
I had their electrostat earbuds and one channel was cutting in and out. I had contacted them last year say November but never sent the product in (I had a brain tumor and was a mess). The product's 2 year warranty ended in June and still hadn't sent them in. Got out of the hospital early...- Dawnrazor

IEMs better than the Shure Kse 846
Really liking the 846 but you know, it might be time to upgrade. Any options? I like the bass on the 846 and the clarity and its pretty wide. The Westone W80 is heavily reduced and was mentioned when I searched earlier. Also is there an iem that competes with the Hifiman Arya ( I know its a...- Dawnrazor

Audeze LCD-i3 fit fix
I have struggled with this iem. I tried the stock hooks and it would just fall out. Then the earfin or whatever it was. That would kind of work but there was always one ear that it would just fall out of. So i gave up on them. Then the other day I was looking at the LCD-I4 manual and there...- Dawnrazor

Headphone journey update
I reluctantly got into headphones a few years ago, and I think now I am starting to get happy! But its been a journey that is for sure. It kind of started with the Monoprice cans like the M1060. I bought them and modded them, mostly with damping. I did that to my maggies and it was worth...- Dawnrazor

Making the Shure KSE1200 sound better
They have been good but i wanted more. Was running them out of the pre out on the headphone amp. Plugged them into the headphone out and they are totally better! Guessing Shure designed them for a headphone out and not a line level out. This will save me some dough- Dawnrazor

Step up from the Monolith m350
I went through the monoprice planars and heavily modded some 1060s and M1060cs. At that time I bought some m350 in ears. I didn't use them that much but thought they were ok. I ended up getting the Ultrasone Edition 11 and the SIg Pro. I dig those and really my #1 desire is soundstage and...- Dawnrazor

Why are there more SE headphones than balanced?
It seems like the headphone manufacturers are saying balanced is not a big deal because lots are SE. But my amp for instance The Liquid Platinum basically says dont even bother listening single ended. But my best headphones are only se and I doubt I will mod them. What gives?- Dawnrazor

Footers
So I have been playing with some footers and just doing diy stuff. Did some diy roller balls first with 1" wood balls and furniture "cups" for furniture legs. Then some steel balls. And finally some more practical and maybe better sounding options. System sounds the best it has. Detailed it...- Dawnrazor

Satic
I bought this and man it really worked. I thought my power was pretty good with a regenerator feeding 3 Ps Audio Ultimate outlets that fed the components. I have it so things like the switch and I phone charger are using one Ultimate outlet, and the Dac and Big ben are on one, and the Amp and...- Dawnrazor

Are there any Audeze cans that sound like Hifiman?
So I was talking to my buddy and he was saying while I had great credit (over 825) it was basically from one source and he suggested I try to get a few other sources so when I buy my house in the next year or 2 I will have even better credit. Well I was thinking about some headphones to buy and...- Dawnrazor

Transformative M1060 and M1060c mod for $5 plus shipping.
I will be doing this too with the M1060c. Basically I got around to treating the front of the driver and just treated the front of the driver with some 3m dampening sheets. Damn. This is a fantastic and easy mod. The sound is soo much clearer. I knew the resolution would increase but the...- Dawnrazor

M1060c- open soundstage mod
i say open because I have already removed the outside grills and foam and am running without that stuff. Even then the soundstage is not as wide as the M1060. So i did a mod to fix it. I call this the “Kitchen Drawer” mod because you take that stuff they sell in the grocery stores to line...- Dawnrazor

My curve
Sonarworks has a test. Even though my m1060s are supported I couldn't select them for the test. Anyhow this was the curve it came up with based on my responses. https://preference-research.sonarworks.com/- Dawnrazor

M1060 mod
Been an audiophile for 20 years but new to headphones. Bought the M565 then the M1060 mkii. Having had Magnepans for most of my audiophile days the M1060 is the kind of sound I like. Lots of negatives about the highs but maybe they really did fix it because while I had to upgrade other parts...- Dawnrazor

The $100 balanced amp market only has a few options like the SMSL or Loxie but none afaik are dual mono and battery powered. But one can buy 2 of the Behringer P1s for $100. http://i66.tinypic.com/flm49z.jpg They are battery or supply powered and with 2 of them that should be dual mono. I...- Dawnrazor
