YES, I agree the game/chat mix should be primary. It's basically broken at this point. I frequently need to change the game/chat mix in warzone. It's hard to do and always messes with the mic gain, which I never need to change.

You can use any set of headphones with a Modmic Uni and a y-adapter plugged directly into the controller. I sometimes use the HiFiMan Sundara or the HD6XX. The Penrose will sound better than this setup, because the amp in the xbox controller isn't really up to making wired headphones sound...

The headphones do not connect to the Audeze IOS app. Just because they have bluetooth and you can stream music to them doesn't make them iOS compatible. Audeze themselves have said the headphones are not iOS comapatable, but they never update their marketing materials.

The app is iOS compatible. It works fine with other Audeze products like the cipher cable.

I've got no wooshing. The headphones are very close to silent when turned on, but not 100%. When the sidetone is turned on I hear a little bit of air, which I believe is the mic preamp noise. It's equal on both sides, and so quiet I can only hear it when there's no other sound being played.

The Arctis 7x came with an 18” long extension cable for the dongle, so you can place the dongle away from the console/computer. Maybe trying a short usb extension cable will help.
