What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

For what I'm doing I don't need a DAC that's that expensive. The Niles speakers in my house aren't great so I went more budget oriented.

It's odd that I never saw their DAC on any sites, but probably just passed it because of the price. What are you using them with software wise? I'm replacing an Elan whole house system with piCorePlayer/LMS/Squeezebox setup. I have Pi's with dac's for each zone that are just squeezebox players...

I tried a a couple searches but didn't find anything. I was more interested on a DAC HAT than digital out, but didn't make that clear. Thanks for the reply.

I heard rumor Schiit was doing a streamer, but I am curious if they thought about doing a Raspberry Pi HAT? I've noticed there are a few options but in the USA it seems like HifiBerry is the only real player.

So I don't recall what the final answer to this was, but is Schiit developing a CD transport? Very curious as it's something I'd definitely consider. Never-mind, search is my friend. Now if they'd release the Jot unison dac, that would be great.

    Headphone Recommendation (for kids)

Sorry.. this is the incorrect forum for this if a mod would kind enough to move it to the help section. Hello, I mostly lurk around here and have posted in a few sections. My wife and I realized we need a set of headphones for our kids when they're using their iPads while traveling. We are...

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

@Jason Stoddard I heard of Schiit through online discussions and reviews and I was super late to the game (maybe 1 to 1 1/2 years ago). What led to Schiit was my search to put together a very reasonably priced 2 channel system and reading tons of threads and reviews. As we all know companies can...

Now I've always used the term spin in regards to vinyl because I have friends that DJ (and the spin that record), but I could be mistaken and it could be a CD transport.

    Schiit Yggdrasil Impressions thread

I recall giving this advice to amirm quite a while ago, which he did not heed. How ironic is that.

I agree. We were given a Technivorm and it was a pain in the arse. We now use a BonaVita and are very happy with it. On a side note. I stopped drinking coffee and alcohol for 6 weeks; I normally just stop drinking once a year for a month or three. I've tried drinking coffee again and it...

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

I have a Breville coffee grinder and I think it's a waste of money. The main feature I'd like to see is memory presets for coffee brand/type etc. I grind with the Breville and it'll take me a few days to get just the right setting. If the power goes out, crap, it's gone. If I switch blends or...

Did Pietro share a recipe with you? Is it in the thread by chance? I make pizza for my kids all the time, but the bread always turns out flat. That looks fantastic.

Yesterday I was pooh-poohing top loaders and then after thinking about all the tray loaders I've had where the tray has stopped working I thought, perhaps, I should reconsider.

Schiit Happened: The Story of the World's Most Improbable Start-Up

I thought y'all might find this link quite interesting after all the discussion of the coaster board. If I were living stateside I'd probably buy it for fun and give it ago. However, I'm not and I don't have any efficient speakers to run with it. Could Schiit pull off something like this? Amp...

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

I don't have anything against a top loaders. In my homes I've built AV cabinets which included rack rails and that makes having top loading units more difficult to place. @Ableza - You're right, I should have said a CD Player or Transport option. However my point remains the same.

What a long, strange trip it's been -- (Robert Hunter)

I have a slot loader in my iMac and in my car. I don't have any data, but my assumption is that they would get less dust inside. That being said they would obviously be harder to clean. Top loaders are ok, but then you need lots of space above or at least a fair amount. If they go with a tray...

Analog? That would be nice if it has a dac option. I'm hoping for AES, Coax etc digital outs. I'm curious if they're going to do a slot loading drive, tray loader or god forbid top loader :P.
