You can try the Beyerdynamic dt250. They are good for rock and metal. The bass is tighter and faster than on the m50x, but it is not bloated. The mids are very flat but not recessed as on the 770 pros. I would not recommend the msr7 for rock, vecause they are too gentle and soft for this genre.
