Audeze LCD-5 Review, Measurements, Interview
Borderline bright? Not suited for tube amps? Hmmm, I don’t think so.- Eduardo C

Audeze LCD-4
Hi guys (sorry about my English) I was in the process of replacing pads in my Lcd-4s. It's not a clean affair since the pads are glued to a black felp, wich in turn glues to the driver. I am clumsy with manual labor and ended destroying completely the black felp. The only thing left to do was...- Eduardo C

Woo Audio WA22 Amp Owner Unite
I think you nailed it. With the help of some friends I have tried different headphones. There is little to zero hum with HE1000V2, Abyss Diana or AEON 2C. Any experience with WA22 (5998 power tubes) driving Susvara? thanks.- Eduardo C

Thanks for your answers. I guess there are some things to try before giving up. Is there is a particular type of tube (driver, power, rectifier) were I should start making changes?- Eduardo C

Just to clarify, I am not blaming WOOAUDIO, probably the info on the humming is somewhere there, buried in a review. Too bad I did not read it before.- Eduardo C

Woo Audio WA22 Amp Owner Unite
Hi guys: I just received my new WA22. I bought it as an alternative to the PassLabs HPA-1. The sound is great: full, sweet and very involving. The problem I am having is... the hum! I hate the hum, it adds another layer of bother to my already bad tinnitus. I have tried all the usual...- Eduardo C

Meze EMPYREAN - the First Isodynamic Hybrid Array Headphone
We all value different things. Some like sparkle and punch. I am extremely sensitive to stridency, metallic sheen, and brightness. So after much trying this is currently my headphone chain: Headphones -> Meze Empyrean (gentle and unoffensive). Dac -> Metrum Acoustics Onyx (dense, dark...- Eduardo C

HiFiMan Susvara
Hi guys. I am having a hard time deciding between Susvara and Abyss phi tc. My Amp is the moon 430ha so I think I will be ok powerwise. I have a doubt about Susvara though: do the ears touch the drivers? That’s really a no go for me since once you notice that it ruins your experience. Any...- Eduardo C

The JPS Labs: Abyss AB-1266 Impressions Thread
Hi all. I want to ask about your impressions using the Abyss phy tc while laying on bed. My LCD-4 are perfect for this since most of the weight is supported by the pillow. I understand the clamp force with the abyss is pretty week. Would that be a problem? Thanks.- Eduardo C

Audeze LCD-4z - Impressions Thread
Sorry if I wasn’t clear. I was not referring to the Hugo2 - lcd4z combination specifically. Rather, my comment was about a general way of toning down the sound. I suffer from tinnitus and I am extremely sensitive to bright and piercing sound. Replacing the Hugo2 with Metrum Acoustics Onyx has...- Eduardo C

Audeze LCD-4z - Impressions Thread
I had the same problem. I cannot tolerate bright or piercing highs. Someone advised me to replace my Hugo2 with an R2R non oversampling dac and all my problems disappeared. Now I use Metrum Acoustics DACs both in my main system and with my headphones set up.- Eduardo C

I completely agree with you. I have the exact same experience with my system. Hugo2 -> PassLabs HPA-1 -> LCD4. The HPA-1 also adds body and richness to the sound.- Eduardo C

Sennheiser HD820
I used to have the HD800S but had to let them go, there was a bite (stridency) I could not stand, specially noticeable with piano solo and violin. On the other hand the HD820 are perfect for me. It’s the same Sennheiser house sound only smoother. The HD820 sound better with the Sennheiser...- Eduardo C

Audeze LCD-4
I don’t have the Dave, but I can tell you about the LCD-4 / Hugo 2 combo. In short, Hugo 2 does not have enough power to drive the LCD-4s. My current set up is Sonos Connect > Hugo 2 > PassLabs hpa-1 > LCD-4 The addition of the PassLabs hpa-1 changed everything, the sound is fuller, specially...- Eduardo C

Audeze LCD-4z - Impressions Thread
I completely agree with you. What is wrong with Audeeze? There is nothing but confusion regarding these new cans. News about weight reduction vary from 15%, 25% to 33%. The figures about impedance, materials and efficiency are very confusing. Even this thread is hard to find! The same happened...- Eduardo C

Audeze LCD-4
Congrats on your new lcd-4. You will love them. I have tried my lcd-4 connected directly to the Hugo 2 and also using the Hugo 2 as DAC feeding the PassLabs hpa-1. Simply there is no contest. With the hpa-1 in the chain the sound is much much better, fuller, richer. The Hugo 2 alone cannot...- Eduardo C

Audeze LCD-4
After much hesitation I decided to trust John Atkinson and bought the PassLabs PHA-1 to drive my LCD-4s. In a word WOW!!! I was afraid the power would be lacking, but that is not the case at all. The volume knob is at 9 most of the time for my listening levels. Rarely do I feel I need to turn...- Eduardo C
