ATH-M40x bad sound quality
These are pretty good for the price, no amp needed. DAC is just for better sound quality, but onboard is good enough. An amp is useful for headphones that aren't efficient or have a high impedance. Maybe look for Sennheiser HD598 if you can go with open-back, it has better soundstage.- Kammex

I think it's a faulty cable connector in the headphones. You should return/exchange them.- Kammex

JH Audio Customer Appreciation Event- 24 HOURS ONLY!
Too bad I can't join the crew after I purchased a pair of Angie's. I signed up twice and emailed your customer support only to get a few replies that got to nowhere and left me hanging, as if JH appreciates their customers.- Kammex

*NEW PRODUCT ANNOUNCEMENT* Jerry Harvey Audio - Performance Series Universal Fit IEMs
A month ago, I completed the JH Crew signup form (which said JH will contact you within 24 hours). A week later, I didn't get an email so I submitted the form again. I waited 3 weeks, then decided to contacted customer relations, sending them an email and attached my receipt. I got a reply that...- Kammex

Westone W30 + spotify high quality streaming, amp/dac?
To start, you can take a look at the AudioQuest Dragonfly DAC/amps, they're cheap yet they make a nice upgrade than straight out of your device. It'll plug into your MacBook and you can use an Apple Lightning to USB Camera adapter or buy a Dragontail to plug into your iPhone.- Kammex

I agree too. There's too much strain on the ends of the bass pod cable, and those are solder joints, even weaker than a flexible wire. A half-inch increase in diameter would be a lot better.- Kammex

They have pretty long metal strain reliefs on the bend points (and they're really springy) and the rubber is thick but not stiff. It's good enough to not be detachable IMO.- Kammex

Sony mdr 7506 for $35 bucks?! Is this legit?
If you look for IE800's on eBay there're some that sell for $170, and needless to say, they're fake. I don't know why some people still sell fakes despite eBay's Buyer Protection, but then again, the buyer protection system is flawed and you'll waste time and energy if not money on buying them...- Kammex

Closed headphones and ears heat
The culprit is probably the pads. I had ATH-M50x's and the stock pleather pads gave me the prickly hot sensation after an hour. After I got the velour pads, I could wear them for at least 4 hours. Closed-back isn't the issue, it's more about the pads. You can try the XL cushion pads from V-Moda...- Kammex

EDM and pop won't require much extension in the treble. But would benefit in the bass though.- Kammex

The invoice seems authentic. Amazon sometimes ships out fakes though. If you do get one, contact them about it. They might send you another one (and inspect that one to be authentic) and let you keep the fake one to avoid the hassle. Ah, I see.- Kammex

This wasn't even fun to figure out. I love the ones where everything looks like an authentic pair, and the only way to tell if it's geniune is to tell the OP to listen to them, yet they say it sounds good and can't decide because they don't have a confirmed authentic pair to compare to.- Kammex

Recommended Headphones for Gaming?
For competitive gaming like CS:GO as you mentioned, detail and imaging is much more important than immersion (bass). All of them are relatively comfortable, with the AD900X being a tad lower than the rest. Best soundstage and imaging in the list - AD900X. 2nd best soundstage and imaging - HD598...- Kammex

The logo on the jack is enough to confirm it's fake. No doubt. Would Sennheiser ever have the logo flipped around on their earphones?- Kammex

Shure SE215, RHA MA750
For me, the most to least important is sound quality, durability, comfort, isolation. I know a few people who want comfort to be the priority. We can't decide what you want more. You have to ask yourself what you're looking for. Both the SE215 and MA750 are very durable, so no need to worry...- Kammex
