I'm going to bet on two things here. The stuttering happens on high bitrate files like lossless. You have a Sandisk card. Return your SD card and get another brand. Sandisk did this to me and many others. I suggest Samsung instead.

It looks like the new version has some bug fixes and adds plugins to audio options. There seem to be two plugins available for download. Balance control and something called Sound filed, which I suspect is a mis-spelling of sound field.

I never installed 1.2 and this is happening to me. I was going to try 1.2 for the auto-power-off but all I see is bad news. But it might not be the firmware but something else triggered by the date or some other software that is causing this.
