OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

You say you "just pulled" the leather off your HA2 - could you be a bit more detailed/specific. Mine went from holding its charge for a shorter and shorter time, and now won't charge at all.

    How to fully exit UAPP

As per my thread title. I have the app on a Samsung S7+, android 12. When I use the standard "Close all" the app folder disappears, but on the settings pull-down from top of screen, the app still shows, with no X to click on, nor does swiping to the right work??

Help - just bought Samsung Galaxy S7+

For years I have been happily using USB Audio Pro on my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro (12.2" tablet) with an OTG usb micro B to USB micro B cable out to my Oppo HA2 DAC. Now I have the Samsung Galaxy s7+ 12.4" tablet with a USB C as the only output. What cables/adapters/whatevers do I need to use...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I would make sure you use the windows browser to transfer the files from PC to your Tablet. And make sure you know where on your tablet you are sending them. To internal storage, or do you have a smartcard storage plugged into your tablet? I would be recommending using a smart card, and...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

If you stick a 128 Gb smart card into the Tab A, that should give you plenty of room to store a fair number of FLAC files, even with a fair proportion of 96k/24 bit recordings. The Tab A should support such a card: my older Samsung Galaxy Note Pro does. The UAPP app takes care of the high...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Personally, I don't see how upsampling any kind of audio file can improve the sound quality: you cannot get out of a sound file any more quality than what is originally in it. Putting it in a higher format container is like putting a more expensive wrapper around a box: the package might look...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

You seem to imply here that "Hi-Res" and "MQA" are interchangeable terms. There are many expert critics who regard MQA as anything but true hi-res, as I have mentioned in a previous post. Some even equate the claims of MQA with the snake-oil claims of "magic" exteme high-cost cables...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Hi. Am using UAPP on a samsung Note Pro, Android 5.02, and Oppo HA 2 DAC. Have played some HiRes 96/24 5.1 channel flac, without any apparent loss from the surround channels. Is it UAPP combining the surround channels into 2-channel stereo, or would it be my DAC doing this?

I am inclined to agree with many critics that MQA is a bit of a con: https://darko.audio/2017/03/highresaudio-com-calls-for-a-deeper-technical-analysis-of-mqa/ http://www.realhd-audio.com/?p=6109 https://www.computeraudiophile.com/forums/topic/30381-mqa-is-vaporware/?page=306...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Can UAPP be loaded onto the likes of the Nvidia Shield and used to play back flac files bit-perfect through the HDMI port, bypassing the android tv os kernal apis? I have been extremely happy with UAPP's performance on my Samsung Note Pro 12.2 through to my Oppo HA2 Dac to my Oppo PM3...

HibyMusic Android and iOS Music Player - Bit-perfect USB Output; Network and Dropbox Streaming

Hi all. Will this app read 5.1 channel surround 96/24 flac? And 5.1 surround DSD files? And will it only output to DACs or is it able to output via HDMI? I have an Nvidia Shield TV box, hooked up to my av receiver, hence the question. (The Shield, of course, is not running the usual android...

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

LOL at myself - of course a USB connection is digital!!! Idiot (me, that is)!!! I think I knew that when I said I "was prepared to be corrected on the analogue" part, just hadn't thought it through.     Are we sure here that it its the Oppo that loses the handshake, and not the host device...

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

Let me be more exact - the UAPP will work if activated before turning on the HA-2, but in android mode - it reports not seeing any USB DAC connection.  It will still send audio to the DAC but I believe the android device/app have done the decoding, and what goes out to the HA-2 is analogue (I am...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

Hi Davy   I have not been using wifi for 2-3 weeks, as I am temporarily away from my home.  I have been exclusively using the SD card, and, occassionally, a portable hard drive via a usb hub.  Problem seems to be getting more frequent.  At least once in every 1-3 hr session.

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I am using a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro android tablet, USB 3 (or what I have also seen labelled as USB 3 Micro B super speed) to USB A OTG cable in the tablet, to USB A to micro USB to Oppo HA-2 DAC to Oppo PM 3 headphones.  Has all been working beautifully until recently, when the playback would...

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

Ricky - it is not clear what is plugged directly into your Note 7:  was it the new OTG cable, or was this "Micro USB-USB C" adapter plugged into your Note, and then you plugged the new cable into the this "adapter"?     If the last, that will not work unless this "Micro USB-USB C" is OTG.  It...

Quote:  Rickydenim I have no savvy with the newer Samsung Notes, nor the USB C connector, but one thing I do know:  whatever cable/connector that you plug directly into the android device, it must be an OTG (on-the-go) connector.  What you connect after that does not matter - but the direct...

I wondered the same myelf.  But I thought that with android tablets, the usb connection could be used either as an on-the-go connection, or as a charging connection, but could not perform both functions at the same time.  And as I said in my earlier post, the HA-2 always showed a charge loss...

OPPO HA-2 Portable Headphone Amplifier/DAC Discussion Thread

I run my HA-2 from a Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2" tablet.  (And very occassionally from an Oppo R7s phone).  Pair with either my Oppo PM-3 headphones, or use the HA-2 line out to the aux line in in my car.  Software is the full UAPP app.   For first few months I frequently needed to top up...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

The micro usb connection is small.  My Oppo R7s phone has a reasonably tight micro usb, but my Samsung Galaxy Note Pro 12.2" has some play in it.  With the Note Pro, instead of using the micro usb, I am using the full USB 3 to try to get more stability but even this is not perfectly tight.  ...

USB Audio Player PRO (UAPP): 24- and 32-bit playback, ubiquitous USB audio support for Android

I have a similar problem with USB connection error:  it seems very fragile.  I suspect that what is happening is that sometimes a slight movement of the connection cable between my android device and my DAC can cause this.   This would not be so bad if resettling the connections would fix it...

    Oppo HA-2 Review

Well finally got a solution with reading all my music files from a portable hard drive.   Firstly re dbPoweramp:  I actually bought a copy a long time ago, and use it to produce lossless flac files of all my CD's and hi-res DVD-audio files.  I also used it to convert the FLAC files to MP3...
