FiiO BTR3-The World' First Bluetooth Headphone Amplifier, SBC/AAC/aptX/aptX LL/aptX HD/LDAC/HWA (LHDC)
Wow. Got mine few days ago and been putting it through tests, and so far BTR3 is checking all the right boxes. Pitch black noise floor Mac volume & mute controls actually work Onboard volume control, to avoid ear-shattering accidents No drivers necessary AptX and LDAC Tiny Now, the only issue...- frifox

FiiO Q5, Flagship DAC/Amp, an Dual DAC, USB/Optical/Coaxial/Line in, share the same amp module with X7.
Two USB ports, one for data and other for charging. Does that mean if I'm connecting to a PC then I would HAVE to use 2 usb cables if I'm planning on keeping it running for more than the battery-life allows? If so, that would be quite an inconvenience...- frifox

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
I suspect there are multiple relays. There is a pop when you turn the knob, but that's expected and happens only when you turn device on/off. However it's a different sounding pop, more higher pitched. Once I actually start playing audio (even if it's pure silence) it will pop again, and then...- frifox

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
Ended up buying the Q1 regardless, just had to try it for myself. Found a small annoyance right away: Every time I pause audio (may that be the media player play/pause, player switching to the next tracks, or just me browsing youtube) there is this pop you hear through the headphones - the...- frifox

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
I guess I'm just looking for a perfect product. Example use cases: - At work, a coworker needs my attention so I hit MUTE with my mouse/keyboard (my hands are on it already) and converse. Once done, I un-mute and I'm back happy coding with music back at desired volume. - I'm listening to music...- frifox

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
That's unfortunate, in fact quite a deal-breaker for me. My past experience with adding a loopback device to control the volume via the host (ie MacBook) introduces all kinds of glitches and delays :frowning2: I'm sure controlling the volume only with the Q1 is scientifically superior, however...- frifox

FiiO Q1MKII- Native DSD Support, XMOS USB DAC chip, DAC AK4452, 20 hours
This looks like a good upgrade for me. Just bought balanced cables for my IEMs, and Q1's balanced output is perfect timing. My wish-list for Q1 (would love to get confirmed before buying) - Pitch black noise floor with sensitive IEMs - No need for drivers when used on all OS's...- frifox

Had my google apps start crashing on me every few seconds too. Completely uninstalled the Google Apps service and viola - no more crashes at all. Play store still works but some apps complain about "licensing" but still, better than getting that crash prompt every few seconds :D- frifox

May I put in a feature request? When in DAC mode: - Display volume controls on the screen, always visible. - Or, allow the app to go into background so I can have another volume-control app there to do the job. On a MAC the volume cannot be controlled by the host, it's controlled on...- frifox

Question about the modules. I have X7 + AM2 module and HD600 headphones. AM2 will drive HD600's pretty well, definitely enough power to drive them at the volumes I enjoy. Last week I ordered HD800S. I've read from Brooko's review that FiiO K5 will handle them pretty well so no worries...- frifox

In my experience the "soundstage" is proportional to how relaxed my ear is. B1 is a clear winner for that purpose. B1 manages to convince my brain that the 3D space is the widest compared to all other modules I have (S1/G1/M20).- frifox

Using Q5 to stream aptx audio to headphones makes zero sense. Q5 sole reason for existence is the quality DAC/AMP for best sound quality. There are plenty $20 solutions that you can connect to usb (digital) or a 3.5mm (analog) source that would then push aptx to your headphones. Q5's...- frifox

I'm quite intrigued by Q5. Since the final design is settled, when can we expect it to be available to public? Currently using E17 at work, home, and on the go (yep, three E17's). Using it on the go / with cellphone is pretty messy as I always have to remember to carry the OTG + USB cables...- frifox

FiiO E17 and DF both go for exactly $100. I've owned a whole range of phones and they E17 is well worth the price tag. Most phones are pretty weak in the low end and their noise floor is just too high, especially for CIEMs like 64Audio A12's. Also, the artifacts you get at low volumes with...- frifox

Tall seek-bar is one of the very few reasons I still use FiiO app vs other players. Having to be micro-precise when seeking my tracks is a deal-breaker. Please keep the seek-bar fat! Also, maybe not just a UI suggestion, I would like to be able to queue a whole folder for playback -...- frifox

I have both U12 and A12. While I do think I notice the different sound signatures I believe it's too soon for me to say anything for certain. I believe there was a claim somewhere in this thread that G1's are V shaped and yeah, I do feel that could be the case here. More lows & highs and...- frifox

Received G1 modules yesterday and finally got a chance to test-drive them today at work, 8 hours worth of listening time, swapping between G1 and B1 modules every few hours. B1 modules have noticeably more noise isolation that G1 modules. Asius website lists both modules -10 dB. Are mine...- frifox

Quite possible. I've went through like 4 different eartips until I settled on ones I liked. After getting proper tips the whole U12 experience was changed, now I pretty much have them on at work, whole day every day and I couldn't be happier. Poor A12's are now my "backup" pair XD- frifox

After about 9 months of these babies, I finally came to a conclusion - U12s are better than A12s. U12s are more comfortable to wear, feel lighter, yet still sound just as good as the A12's. I'm highly suspecting that the amount of A12s surface that gets into contact with the skin is the...- frifox

Windows 10. System volume at 2% and foobar2k volume at 20%. Anything higher would make it louder than I'm comfortable with.
