No, if you´d like to wait another year or so, you should keep your AK.

It won't be released until 2017. And at my guess, probably not until half way through 2017. So I wouldn't bother waiting/holding off, personally.

500$ is superb price! I've got mine in discount for more than 700 USD.

I certainly would for example, that's why I wanted all-in-one solution including DAP+DAC and went for X7.

I agree with you, i came from ak100ii. Sold mine and purchased x7+AM2. The sound sig is not that different, both are neutral player, both have superb sq. But with AM5 it scales a lot, ak100ii left far behind. And i love x7 even more. No need yo carry an amp

yeah. i know what you mean. the X7 is more musical to my ears. and yes, they sound more full. If i pull the trigger, i plan to get the AM3 so that i can get both SE and BAL.

Tall seek-bar is one of the very few reasons I still use FiiO app vs other players. Having to be micro-precise when seeking my tracks is a deal-breaker. Please keep the seek-bar fat!
 
Also, maybe not just a UI suggestion, I would like to be able to queue a whole folder for playback - including all sub-folders that contain music files. Currently hitting play on a folder does nothing for me, mostly because actual mp3 files are sub-folders of that folder.

I had an AK 100ii, I also thought it sounded thin and dull versus my X7 with the am3, now if I could get hold of a balanced cable, the one I ordered from Fiio doesn't fit into the recessed plugs on my Alclairs .

So my X7 makes an audible (mechanical) click when I power it on/start music after a long pause. Is this normal? No sounds in the headphones or anything like that just a very noticeable click like the amp is powering on or something.
