ZMF Aeolus Impressions thread
Since it seems like you're the original owner, I'd email ZMF first. I've been enjoying Hart Audio's interconnect cable system though- they're affordable and made it extremely convenient to use my Aeolus on sources with different output connectors.- mowgli-kun

New from Garage1217, the solid-state Project Polaris!
Ember + tube rolling- my poor wallet. 🥲 The Polaris is such a hard act to beat with how customizable it is, can only imagine how much better the Ember might be.- mowgli-kun

New from Garage1217, the solid-state Project Polaris!
Question for my fellow Project Polaris lovers. If you ended up upgrading, which amp was it that made you leave behind the Project Polaris? Or have you auditioned an amp that you made you consider swapping out your Polaris? Recently upgraded to the 2021 LCD-X, and it honestly doesn't leave me...- mowgli-kun

The New AEON 2: It's The End Of MrSpeakers
Hey all. Have been considering an Aeon 2 Open as my first real upgrade from the HD600. Has anyone here heard and compared the two? Mainly wondering if the Aeon 2 Open retains the HD600's natural tonality while fixing some of the common gripes (bass rolloff, lack of soundstage, slight edge in...- mowgli-kun

iBasso IT01 a fun IEM. Single multilayered graphene driver. !! 99 USD !!
Gorgeous. Thanks for the response, jaxz! Would you say they're different enough to warrant owning both? Anyone else compare these to other IEMs in the sub $100 range? I read Pinky's comparison to the Oriveti Basic, and although I love the warmth of those, I have to agree that these are in...- mowgli-kun

iBasso IT01 a fun IEM. Single multilayered graphene driver. !! 99 USD !!
Thanks, jamato8! Among all sub-$100 IEMs, the only reason the SE215 is still being recommended is for this negative profile (and durability). It seems to lose in terms of sound quality to every other offering in this price range though. If the IT01 has a negative profile alongside superior...- mowgli-kun

Ryan, Thank you for the response! Which Spinfit model ended up working for you- the CP800 or CP100? Also, how would you say the JVC Spiral Dot tips changed the sound? Did they seal better than stock?- mowgli-kun

Just got my Oriveti Basic and I love their warm, natural sound. Unfortunately, none of the stock tips seem to seal well for me. Anyone here try tip-rolling? Which tips did you settle on?- mowgli-kun

Emotiva Big Ego and Little Ego
That makes sense. I guess what I'm really looking for is a a comparison between the Big Ego and Modibit as standalone DACs (I already have a desktop amp).- mowgli-kun

Emotiva Big Ego and Little Ego
Sorry to trouble you, but would you mind letting us know the differences you hear between the two? They're priced quite similarly, and the Emotiva DACs can do double duty as portable solutions; I'm sure there are people as interested in this as I am. =)- mowgli-kun

Does anyone here have any impressions on the crossfeed in these units? This one feature is all that's keeping me from settling on the Modi Multibit as my first DAC.- mowgli-kun

MrSpeakers ETHER Flow and ETHER C Flow -- Inspired by Electrostatic Headphones
Definitely came out of left field for me. Was expecting the Ether electrostats, actually. Would love to hear if this has any of the "hardness" in the treble that planars can't seem to shake (to my ears at least).- mowgli-kun

Project Ember Review
Email Jeremy! Garage1217 is pretty much a two-person operation, but their customer support is awesome. From what I've read, the Project Sunrise and Solstice are the more "tubey" sounding amps in their lineup. This page might help you decide.- mowgli-kun

New from Garage1217, the solid-state Project Polaris!
I would only order Aggressive, unless you own/use any NOS DACs. The Mellow version is designed to shave of inaudible high-frequency noise when used with NOS DACs (the lowest two Bandwidth settings make no audible difference to my ears).- mowgli-kun

Emotiva Big Ego and Little Ego
Anyone else get a chance to compare the Big Ego to the Schiit Bifrost? I'm trying to decide between these two, and it's pretty much down to the Big Ego's sound customization versus the Bifrost's modular design (easy upgrades down the road). Would love to hear people's thoughts on the Big...- mowgli-kun
