I have them as well but still went back to stock tips - Comply changed the sound signature, became muffled at the expense of better isolation. Moreover, there is NO additional dirt shield as compared to the original tips. I am very adamant on keeping them clean.

Mine are from Sennheiser Singapore and they look exactly like yours. Note in the second pic of the Y Connector, where there is a gold ring revealing between the seams. I noticed that only the real ones have the gold ring.

They are sealed with 2 round stickers but never shrinked wrapped. Only the fakes are shrinked wrapped.

Hi, I noticed that your IE800 also has the same gold ring at the Y connector as mine. Mine was purchased directly from Sennheiser Singapore. In fact I have 2 pairs and both have the same gold ring.

I've personally owned a fake pair before as well as 2 genuine pairs purchased directly from Sennheiser Singapore.    A "Good" copy can sound very convincingly close to the originals, wide spacious soundstage, V-shaped signature. The obvious difference is the bass which can sound too bloated...

You are so hilarious! I love your graphical description and it's such a pleasure to read.    Indeed, I am wondering how and what else can beat IE800 in the near future. I simply cannot find any more room for improvements as far as the sound is concerned. 

For a fake, this is really a bad copy.

Agree Rob. Especially so for me since I am always using it on the move. But the magical sound outweigh most flaws :)

Agree with George.    It's V-shaped, mids are not overly emphasized nor should it be taking a back stage in your case. 

I tend to agree with you too. I have 2 pairs (One pair which I am currently using daily which is much burned in, the other is a spare new pair.) Both sounds the same, equally fabulous!

I am keeping mine for a long long time too! Couldn't find a better alternative till date!
