I've owned MSR7. Always enjoyed them. I now own their SR9. Pretty much agree with what has already been said here. I will add. I had to put them down more than once. The mid-bass punch was so annoying to unbearable. After changing pads to Dakoni all leather and cable swap. Back in the box they...

    Grado e Series

Oh! I agree, they aren't suitable for Rap. Simply they don't produce the bass slam that Rap beats rhythm rely on. Personally, I off hand don't know of any "open back" in that price range of the 60 or 80's that have that bass capabilities?

    Grado e Series

The 325is are $295. The RS2e are $495. The GH-1 went for $650. Another $150. for extra bass extension. I put the $150 toward an additional pair of headphones.. Audio-technica ATH MSR7gm when their price dropped.

    Grado e Series

Short answer, yes. The RS2e are much smoother and simply much clearer than the SR325is. The 325is lack bass. Headphones without bass are useless. I find the 325is too harsh to listen through! Funny, I've tried the SR325e and found them much improved? The 2e just are way more accurate and...

    Grado e Series

I own two pairs of Grado headphones. RS2e and SR325is. No problem with the cables other than their weight. I simply attached a small clothes clip them to my shirt and problem solved.

Yes. There's always a trade off.. one way or the other? I will try the old soap and water routine. That sounds like the ticket to comfort for my RS2e. Those TTVJ Flats might be the remedy I'm looking for my SR325is? Thanks again Joseph69!

    Grado e Series

Oh! okay Great! Then I'll give them a try as well. SR325is could use that, but how about taming that scratchy Grado foam? I'm interested in any option to that effect as well. Thanks!

    Grado e Series

Thanks! That's good to know. I have their 325is and they definitely, imho need treble taming and bass bumping too! But the comfort you clearly discribe is where I am at with these stock L-Cush pads. I just might give those Ear Zonk G-Cush a try? I find the "e" series a much improvement over the...

    Grado e Series

I have yet to experiment with Grado's different pads? Personally, they took some getting use to. I think they are itchy at first touch? Maybe, if they can devise a softer texture layer of sponge where they actually touch the ear would quite all the russling about their comfort? As you probably...

    Grado e Series

Good explanation. I had no idea there was such a mark up in Sweden? At the end of the day price to performance ratio always matters! Grado 325is are what I have started with at $295 USD. I don't barely really listen to them. The RS2e as I've mentioned in prior conversations are my favorite for...

    Grado e Series

After 99 headphones how do you start so way down on the Grado line? I think the 60's are actually at the bottom? Maybe my question would better fit to ask what are the most expensive cans you have now? 99 mediocre headphones don't really matter in the larger scheme of things in high fidelity...

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

Yes. Same here. It's a steep jump but it will be a lasting one. As it should be at $500! Thanks. You do the same.

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

Are you interested in trading your Hv-1A for either SR325is or ATH M70X? But, you said "plus"? Are those with the volume pods on each cup or is it those larger black ones that came out after?

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

No.. Those are at the top of my headphone pyramid.

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

Sure! You can't go wrong there. They are sealed back, or closed? I paid $149. for mine. I have seen them as low as $119?

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

Well, like i've mentioned I have a very low use SR325is in their original box. I would set them free for a reasonable $150. If interested?

You're welcome. Thank you. You I as well, have a great day.

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

I will go so far as to trade my SR325is for a pair of mint or well kept Koss HV-1A! But every pair I ever saw, except one sold by time I seen them were showing their age!

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

I'll add, with the RS2e I can hear harmonics in the bass frequencies that went amiss in the SR325is. They've been back in their original box much longer than listen to? The RS2e never seen their box again! They are my reference headset of 5 other top notch cans! ATH M70X, ATH M50X..which I...

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

For me it was. I upgraded from their SR325is. I just could not enjoy music through them with their very shy bass and extreme treble. I fell for the RS2e as soon as I put them on! The clarity texture of detail and ultra light weight with good looks of Mahogany had me. They also have another very...

    Koss HV/A1 headphones

Thank for the reply etomic. As I think back on the sound of them they did have a laid back midrange compared to the rest of its spectrum. Many of today's phones have that "v" pattern. Your also correct about the Grados not needing to play loud to hear everything in the track. But I also remember...

    Grado e Series

Obviously, I have the headphone bug that's going around! For the simple fact I'm still considering a 3rd Grado..a 2nd Stax, and a 3rd Sennheiser or that new wireless Sony that's catching fire? If only I could sell off everything but the RS2e life would be perfect with the replacements just listed!
  23. audio19

    Grado e Series

Oh okay. I'm trying to limit how many phones I own at any given time as well. There's 2 Sennheiser's, a vintage Stax, 2 Grados, and a pair of AT-M70X.

If..you go with RS2e say good bye to your 325is or e! The RS2e are feather light too!

I have a copy of The Commodores simple instrumental funk track Cebu. Basically a drum/bass recording miked nicely with natural room reverb. It's in the drums solo that reveals the retrieval capability of end stream play back, whether phones or speakers. It's my reference track for detail and...
