    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

I got mine recabled from Vesper Audio (https://vesperaudio.com/). In fact, I had the exact same doubts as you. They warned me that there is a small chance that things could go wrong during the recabling. But I decided to risk it anyway because it is nigh impossible to find another pair of...

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Indeed, that is why I don't want to pass judgment so soon. I'll give it a few more months. Would be nice, however, if I can find someone near me who owns them.

    Hifiman IEM's: RE-400 and RE-600

Hi all! Is there anyone with RE400's in Bangalore, India? Because I need help, desperately! I want to know if recabling them has changed their sound? Here's my story. I bought the RE400 about 3 years back. I was very happy with the way they sounded. But no more than 6 months of usage and the...

A comparison of VSonic GR07 Classic, Bass Edition (BE) and Hifiman RE-400

Having listened to the Vsonic's GR07 BE and GR07 Classic, and Hifiman's RE-400, I just wanted to give my two cents to those who are looking to buy any of these. Disclaimer: I'm not a very seasoned audiophile!   Bass: The GR07 BE is the bassiest of them all but still the tonality of the...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

After listening to it for longer, I realized that the bass had increased and the treble was much much lower. I personally didn't like it. May be some would like it, but I personally believe that the tonal balance was lost. They definitely lacked in treble after putting on the Comply TS100, and I...

I am wondering the same, although I have cycled through a lot of tips and I don't exactly remember how mine sounded before the nozzles got loose. Damn! How does one verify this!?

Update: Scratch that! The Comply 100 series DOES COLOR the sound a lot, and as quoted above, putting it on presents some risks. The foam tips supplied with the GR07 also tame the treble peaks but more importantly maintain the overall SQ.

    GR07 - Tips Thread

Update: The Comply T100 series color the sound a lot, and as quoted above, putting it on presents some risks. The foam tips supplied with the GR07 also tame the treble peaks but more importantly maintain the overall SQ. Those wanting more of the foam tips should look at Penon Audio's website...

    GR07 - Tips Thread

Just remember to expand the TS100 using the tip of a pen/pencil before putting it on. My nozzles are very loose now because of not doing so. But the most important thing is that it tamed the treble, which was a good thing for me, as I felt that with the default tips I felt that they were...

    2015 vsonic iem lineup VSD2, VSD7, VSD9

The same araldite fixed the broken joint near the housing for me (like the one I see in your pic). I've had my GR07 Classic for 6 months now, and have just started enjoying them. I don't think they've improved the build on GR07, but who knows, the newer ones could be better.

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

I tried the Comply foam TS-100 tips and good lord, what a world of difference!!! The treble peaks are tamed now. Whatever used to sound as undefined peaky treble is now well defined music. I am almost sure that the smaller bore size of the TS-100 is the reason why the treble is...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

    1) Yes, I had experimented and realized that angle of nozzle makes quite a difference. 2) I had tried a few tips earlier, but the ones with the bore size roughly equal to the nozzle sounded the best to me back then. I think I'll give it a shot again. 3) Not really listening for it. This...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Yes, these are pretty well burnt-in, say, 300+ hrs. Actually, it's not the bass extension that bothers me so much, but the hot treble. I had tried a few tips earlier, but I think it's worth a try again. May be isolation is a problem too.

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

I got my GR07 Classic 6 months ago. At first I felt that the treble was too bright, and I had even posted here asking for advice. I still feel that in many tracks the treble is a bit too piercing. I also own a RE-400 which is totally relaxing in comparison. I am still not being able to pin point...

I also had some similar issues. It could just be that you adapted to your apple buds' sound signature. Coming from RE-400, I felt that the GR07's mids were a bit lacking and the treble way too bright and grainy. After spending a lot of time, they don't sound so bright now. They are even very...

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

I have burned in my GR07 for another 50 hours. I still believe that whatever harshness was there in the treble pretty much disappeared within the first two days of use. However, it seems that the resolution has gotten better. And I am getting used to the sound signature too. They are still a bit...

But can burning in change the sound that much? I believed that burn in is more related to the mind. I'll try burning them in and see.

    VSONIC GR07 Impressions Thread

Even though I already own the HiFiMan RE-400 and like them quite well, they lack in sub-bass and they are definitely not suited for rough/daily use. I broke the RE-400's cable within a couple of months and had to get them replaced. So I decided to get the GR07 as a daily use IEM and also for the...
