Best earbuds for streaming (Netflix, etc?)
My Bose QuietComfort 20 are on their last legs, maybe buy the same model? I want wired ones. Budget is roughly $400 USD. The Shure 425s caught my attention, worth it?- Matt714

Trying to connect Edifier S730 to laptop
Yeah it's either a speaker fault or the cables, I'm going to do more testing tonight. Thanks for the help.- Matt714

Trying to connect Edifier S730 to laptop
Cables are fine, I'm pretty sure. As I said the thing is that the left speaker and right speaker have their own dedicated red/white RCA to 3.5mm and a laptop can only accommodate one at a time of these through the single headphone jack. So I was wondering if a splitter would work, or any other...- Matt714

Trying to connect Edifier S730 to laptop
But the system has one Red and White RCA cable for each respective sides, Left and Right; and as you may know laptops only have a single headphone jack, so I can only hear one speaker at a time. Would an adapter make it work? Here's what I was roughly entertaining purchasing...- Matt714

Questions about ripping DVD audio
Let's say for a rock concert 1) Is it automated or you need to input the song lengths? 2) Will PAL be able to be read from my external DVD USB drive? I read that you can change the region only 5 times? Thanks.- Matt714

Earbuds for movies / shows
Trying to find something to stricly watch movies with on an iPad. Do buying guides for music or games apply? Don't know whether there are diminishing returns for expensive sets when your audio source is merely a tablet? Earbuds only. Budget is roughly 120 USD. Could spend slightly more...- Matt714

Earbuds for iPad (Netflix, films)
Looking at something to watch movies with, do buying guides for gaming or music somehow apply? Also the device is an Apple iPad 3, so I'm assuming that it's going to bottleneck at some point? As in, expensive earbuds quickly reach diminishing marginal returns? Budget is roughly $120 USD.- Matt714

Monster iSport Victory
Ooooooh, didn't know that Brainwavz made sports headphones. Thanks. Will check these out. My Bose SoundSport broke after two weeks (perma-static in left earpiece); heavy use but I took care of them. Have another pair through warranty, but a backup one is never a bad idea.- Matt714

Monster iSport Victory
Greetings, Anyone tried these personally for a while? Especially for workouts. Reading Amazon reviews and seeing a bunch of horror stories, about durability issues, especially the Apple control thing. Then again, pissed people tend to review things more and reviews are biased towards...- Matt714

It's still on Netflix if you know how to use a VPN + can tolerate foreign subtitles. http://unogs.com/video/?v=70136119 Sadly it never included the for-TV-movies or the extended episodes.- Matt714

Which MP3 player - mostly for working out? Sony NWZ-A17, FiiO Whatever or iPod Touch (128GB)... others?
Surprised to see Shure SE-215 recommended as sports earbuds at a few places; two pairs of mine died after gentle use (hopefully under warranty). Each time one earbud just stopped to work.- Matt714

Which MP3 player - mostly for working out? Sony NWZ-A17, FiiO Whatever or iPod Touch (128GB)... others?
Greeting friends, As mentioned in title. Sorry if this is vague, I'm currently on the fence about my next purchase. Shouldn't have sold my iPod classic a while back. :-( Budget should be no more than $400 CAD unless it's worth it. Storage is important. The music I'm going to listen...- Matt714

Bizarre 320kbps files?
Doesn't seem to be the original files. Took a few screenshots. iTunes 320kbps CBR mp3 (http://i.imgur.com/Uu0nGaW.jpg) Windows Media Player 320kbps CBR mp3 (http://i.imgur.com/FVg8gIe.jpg) Windows Media Player WAV Lossless (http://i.imgur.com/uQ26HLx.jpg) Really weird that WMP...- Matt714

Bizarre 320kbps files?
Hi, So basically I've been using Spectro (spectrogram program) on my music collection, and I've stumbled on a few oddities. A few of my Iron Maiden albums (all in .mp3 format) have some cutoffs like 16Hz or 18Hz despite being ripped directly from the retail-bought legit CDs at 320kbps CBR...- Matt714

Speaker damage/degradation from sudden & short relatively high volume?
Fuses prevent degradation? Not sure I'm following you. I thought my speakers were top-tier due to the price. At least I believe they're amongst the most expensive 2.1s. Thanks.- Matt714

Speaker damage/degradation from sudden & short relatively high volume?
Thanks all for your constructive replies! Just received an e-mail from the manufacturer saying that at such high power for a short time, the speakers should be fine. I'm surprised manufacturers don't limit their systems to a safe max threshold, such as Apple (amongst others) does to the...- Matt714

Speaker damage/degradation from sudden & short relatively high volume?
Greetings. So basically I recently turned on my audio system (Edifier S730) without remembering that Windows' sound was at around 85-90 percent or so (due to a previous video with really poor audio). It was really loud (especially the bass from the woofer), at least compared to what I'm...- Matt714

DC offset spike?
Asked everywhere else, and the sole advice I keep receiving is to be extra careful when plugging and unplugging. At least I asked an electrician, and it's not an electric problem with the house. Thanks all nonetheless.- Matt714

DC offset spike?
Hi, (not sure whether I'm in the right forum, if not please move) A few days ago, I accidentally damaged one of the speakers of an audio system (Edifier S730), most probably because of a loud and high-pitched distortion (noise?) that happened when the system was connected or disconnected...- Matt714

Spectral analysis help
Hi, Not sure if I'm in the right section; please move if this is not the case, and if it is possible. To get the point, I have recently discovered spectral analysis, and have been using it on my MP3 collection; mostly to root out "lesser quality" 320kbps CBR files. However, being a...- Matt714
