HD800 too bright for violin recordings
HD800 is very selective. Bad writing just hard to listen. This relates to two things: how did the recording, and how it was spelled on the media. This applies to both CD, and vinyl, and WAV, and DSD. There are records perfectly recorded with normal DR, but absolutely disgusting-sounding and...- Makarov Andrei

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
unfortunately HD800 require investments in the components of the musical system more than the real value of these headphones. You cannot buy a hd800 for 1500 $ and invest another 500 $. Will be **** sound. You'll have to sacrifice something, or your money, or have to part with the hd800...- Makarov Andrei

The (new) HD800 Impressions Thread
ubs28 Everyone chooses the tool with which it can cope.) I would choose something from the DT150, DT250 or even better from AKG. Why do you hyped scene when mixing? If Studio headphones is a good sound, so the HiFI you will hear just a great sound. Such dependence for mixing- Makarov Andrei

HD 800 are not even headphones. If you want to get smooth uncolored sound you will have look to the side of the headphones used in the Studio during the mixing of the sound. But I don't think you liked this sound. It's a boring sound. this is not a Fi-Hi.- Makarov Andrei

Is It Really Worth 'Upgrading' Sennheiser HD 580/600/650 Cables?
This is a pointless conversation. ((( You were born with ears on your head, and they either hear or not. Scientific data has been entered in your head much later. Than you know music? Using what tools? Using graphs? Music is the hologram on the screen? -

I had NFB-10SE (wolfson). As a DAC it plays fine for the money it costs, but as he's a bad amp )). Do you get two, or three factors: itch Sabre chip + brightness 800 (their nature is bright, with stock cable) + amp NFB-28. I don't think you have a good sound- Makarov Andrei

Wow, clearly! I'll keep in mind that the DAC2 can drive with such difficult headphones as 812. But of course better to listen to yourself.- Makarov Andrei

Hi! you use the Benchmark DAC2 as the amplifier in this case. Or the signal still goes to the amplifier (one of those amps that you have now)??- Makarov Andrei

HD800 too bright for violin recordings
It would be right to take your HD800 and go listen to them in a different setup. Just take along your music that gives you problems. You will have a new starting point for the hd800.- Makarov Andrei

well, just need to sell the amp HDVD 600/800 to the headphones (as supplied Sennheiser) , otherwise there are many problems with amplification.- Makarov Andrei

HD800 too bright for violin recordings
HD800 were quite bright on the first batch, but now it's pretty balanced light headphones. But of course they cannot tolerate bright element in the path. What gain you listen to the HD800? Funny: so you dive in the LCD-2, as in dark water :)- Makarov Andrei

AKG K812 Pro
No, why heresy? At 812, the potential is much more than the LCD-X. Resources design LCD greatly exhausted, and in this regard, 812 look more promising. Besides, the LCD were and still are problems with quality headphones. But I never heard about quality problems at 812- Makarov Andrei
