    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

The problem with current song mastering process is that the engineers get too lazy and don't bother to spend more time on each track. As I think these days they care more about quantities than qualities. As it turns out, teenagers these days cannot differentiate between good music and loud...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

I disagree and I still stand by the fact that source and phones are equally important in a setup. Highend phones like 846 and Roxannes are very sensitive on their own. If your source is somewhat "tainted", it should reflect very well on the SQ. In your case, since I'd never root my phone to try...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

Honestly, if people can't distinguish SQ difference between smartphones and high-end DAPs, they shouldn't even be here wasting our time. It's like praising picture quality of 480p videos (smartphones) on a 4K TV or display (SE 846).

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

It's partly true because the smartphone version of the DACs tend to have a lower grade (for instance the G3 have a class D) than their flagship offerings for high-end DAPs or amps. Signal interference from poor quality circuit boards do also take a huge toll on SQ. I think smartphone companies...

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

When I listen through my ZX1, I tend to stay at 2 o'clock and set the surround sound to studio and turn off the EQ. I mostly listen to rock music with a lot of bass and some random pop songs. Overall sound quality is brighter than before and separation is very detailed. But if I push pass 2...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

The SQ of a smartphone compared to a DAP can be boiled down to the chip(s) that's decoding the audio files. A high-end DAP have a dedicated audio chip to do the decoding natively whereas a smartphone usually rely on an integrated processor to do the job by software. The scenario is kind of like...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

Sorry guys, I didn't mean to change subject or said anything bad about the 846. So need not to be this sensitive or take it the wrong way. I'm just trying to make a point that a dedicated DAP definitely produce much better sound than a smartphone. I actually did have the chance to spend time...

    Shure SE846 Impressions Thread

If you're a true music lover, the SQ coming from a smartphone just wouldn't cut it. The difference to me is night and day. I didn't even bother to reinstall poweramp on my brand spanking new G3 ever since I got the ZX1. Listening music with my uniRox on a smartphone is like a slap on the face of...

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

But when did they actually receive your ear impressions? It might take up to 2 weeks for them to receive them. So in the worst case, you should receive your phones early next month the latest

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

I would never recommend anyone using an earphone, headphone, IEM or listening to something at all when riding a bike or jogging outdoor. For indoor exercise like gym or tread mill, it's fine. But I think to truly appreciate the sound of the Roxies, you should listen to them while you're doing...

When did you place the order? I'm really on the verge of ordering one as I really like the sound from my uniRox

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

Nevin, sounds like it's your dealer's fault. May I ask why you chose to order through that dealer when you can pretty much spend the same amount of money and less time to order them online? I know JHA ships to anywhere. You should consider that next time.

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

I hope we could see some improvement from jha soon. As Andy said, there's a bottleneck mainly in production because the process involve a lot of skills and it's not like you can just hire some guys to take off the workload. It would also help if they can be more accurate with the fitting process

Great to hear that Andy is clearing the mess and racking up production. I was on the verge of selling my UniRox and pulling the trigger on a pair of customs until he said said Jerry have something new up his sleeves... Wonder what would that be...?

JH Audio Sirens Series Roxanne Impressions Thread

Paying $500 and wait 3-4 extra months for the CF is way out of the question. CF does nothing to the sound whatsoever. I would rather save the $500 for something else down the road.

JH Audio Sirens Series Roxanne Impressions Thread

I wonder this year if they'll have BF sale like last year. 2-3 month is pretty reasonable. If that's the case, I might sell the uniRox after I get the CM. The more I listen to it, the more I love the sound after burn in.

JH Audio Sirens Series Roxanne Impressions Thread

Yeah, I totally understand. I would've order the customs if they can make them within a reasonable period of time. Waiting half a year for a pair of CIEM is no option for me if I'm paying this amount of cash. It's all up to you whether you think the wait is justifiable. For me, I would be happy...

I tried the Muse SpinFit tips and Comply T500, they both work very well for me. Never tried the westone's so can't comment on that. I heard from someone that Sony's hybrid silicon tips work as well. But you have to order them from Sony directly. You probably wouldn't bother with the ones that...

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

As a proud owner of the UE18 pro, I would say they sound more like monitors and accurate to the source imo. As for the roxies, they are a tad more musical with jh's signature sound which is not a bad thing either. The biggest difference is the customizable bass which you can adjust accordingly...

JH Audio Sirens Series Roxanne Impressions Thread

As I said earlier, at this current stage with JHA, getting the uniRox is the wisest thing if the sound is what you're looking for. But you really have to demo it to see if your ears can fit them properly. It would help if you can bring along several kinds of tips (foam, silicon) to get a better...

New JH Audio flagship! "Siren Series Roxanne"

It really depends on your ear structure. Of course CM would be the best possible scenario but there's also the risk of a refit and unbalanced sound. I owned a pair of UE 18 Pro and I needed to refit twice to get the sound right. I honestly feel universals like SE535 and W4 fit well to my ear...
