It is already basically the line out with the way Rob designs his DACs. Think of the Mojo’s 3.5mm output as other DAC’s analogue output. Why have an optical digital output on a Digital to Analogue Converter? There would be no point of spending money on the Mojo then.

It depends if the SP2000 has a good Current (mA) delivery at low impedances. Power isn’t just about total Watts. Agreed! Also, the Mojo’s form factor is much easier to attach a source to than the Hugo line given the differences in shape. Mostly it’s the Hugo2’s volume control and window on the top that makes it a challenge to keep a source conveniently attached.

I would be in the camp that would suggest the pairing isn’t very harmonious. With the tone control in Mojo2 to fix the LCD-XC’s tuning I may reconsider that position, is what I’m getting at.

The analogue output from the DAC directly, including headphone out, is the amp section. You are never ever hearing a separate ‘amp section’ from the DAC.

There is no volume preset for fixed line out ‘mode’ with Mojo2 (which is all the Mojo1 really had anyway, a volume shortcut).

Do not drive headphones from the DAVE’s xlr out, there is not enough current.

Line mode on the Mojo has always been simply a shortcut to a volume preset, nothing more. You always had the ability to lower the volume 4 clicks from ‘line mode’ to output around 1.9V with the Mojo1. No hardware was ever bypassed in line mode with the Mojo1 and the same goes for Mojo2. Again...

I realize why there is so much discussion about the Poly concerning the Mojo2, but it seems like a lot of the conversation specific to the Poly pros and cons could go to the poly thread.

Been through a couple R2R DACs, a couple chip based DACs, a few amplifiers, and various older DAPs. I now just have a source AK240 DAP, Mojo, Hugo2, DAVE, and the LAu amp.

Well, I’m not sure what the setup is for outputting 44.1 vs high res, but I promise you that the TT2 does not default to anything. It only reports what it receives. Check your setup in the audio settings of OSX or Windows (and related playback software) to figure out the discrepancies.
