Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I've been using my 65t actives every day & have been really pleased with them. For now I'll watch all you other guys experiment with whatever else comes down the pike. While the Jabra's don't really blow me away in any particular area they just work great for me overall. They connect instantly...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Thanks for the heads up! I'm heading back to Best Buy this weekend to see if they'll give me the $50 off & maybe grab another pair for the wife.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Sorry, I realized I wasn’t exactly clear in that request after I posted it. Sometimes while listening to the Jabra’s I could use a little more volume. Perfect example was using them while on my lawn tractor, in that case a little more power is appreciated so I can hear more of the music vs...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I’ve been spending more time with my Elite 65t’s & while the balance is still obviously shifted to the left I’ve come to appreciate the other aspects of them. I’m extremely impressed with how they can connect to multiple devices at the same time flawlessly every time, for instance listening to...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

My thoughts as well. For the $70-100 I'd rather spend a little more for a known entity that will offer support as well as firmware updates. I just don't see the value at that particular price point personally.

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

Yep, that looks like what I’m hearing. I was thinking QC was off & they weren’t matching drivers causing the imbalance. Unfortunately even panning in software or level controls in the software never really “fix” the issue since the driver has different responses across the spectrum but usually...

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?

I just got the Elite Active 65ts & while I’m overall really happy with them the imbalance issue is disappointing. They need to add a level or balance control to the app. It’s a shame that they could do so much right but get that part wrong. I’m on the fence about returning them but the options...

Ifi ican nano - any impressions?

I have the HE-400 & the Nano drives it extremely well. I know the HE-500 is harder to drive but on high gain I am between 9:00-12:00, at 12:00 it's loud, I call that drinking volume. I also own the AKG Q701 which is difficult to drive & the Nano drives that with plenty to spare as well. I say go...

    He-500 cable problem

I have no idea what the cause was but my brand new HE-400 also has a cable problem brand new out of the box. If I were you & you really like the sound signiture I would just buy a new cable for them, preferably from a different manufacturer, whatever is going on inside the cable can't be...

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**

I have to say to say that even with the channel imbalance I am enjoying the HE-400 with the Ifi Audio iCan & iDsd better than my Pan Am. What a great pairing that's as portable as I'll ever need. I also prefer the HE-400 over the Q701,especially with the Ifi Audio.

Many thanks to Conquerator2 & Coil, the problem is the cable. When I swap sides on the cable the lft/sd driver becomes the dominant driver. Looks like I need a new cable.

Interesting results, the driver impedance was the same value on each side but the cable impedance is off. The right channel measures .4 while the left measures .5, I have no idea what that says or proves other than there are two different values on the channels on the cable test. I think it...

ALO Pan Am desktop/portable headphone amp/DAC: Impressions and Reviews

I felt the Russians were to harsh & bright with the AKG's but have not re listened to them with the HE-400's I found them to be a pretty aggressive sound signature with some peaks that really grated on me but it's possible the HE-400's may smooth them out a bit.

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**

Thank you for that, I actually read that before I received the headphones & already forgot. It's a shame that I may have to do that with a brand new item but things happen, I really like these so I'm not going to let something as simple as that ruin my experience.

**Hifiman HE-400 Impressions and Discussion Thread**

Exactly! I'm already doing that unfortunately. I'm not sure if it is just the bass either, at first I thought that may be it as well but it will take some more listening to put my finger on it. I'm going to measure the impedence & go from there. Yep, tried that as well!

ALO Pan Am desktop/portable headphone amp/DAC: Impressions and Reviews

Thank you, I ordered a pair of the Slyvania's to try although I'm close to spending almost half of what I spent on the amp in tubes. Oh well, that's the fun of the hobby.

I own a multi meter, so can I measure the impedance on each side? How would I go about doing that?

Yes, I forgot to mention that I did that & the imbalance does follow.

Hey guys, I just received my new HE-400's from Hifiman & I'm pretty sure the left channel is off about 1-2 db from the right. It is ever so slight but it's there. I've tried different sources & amps but it's there. I'm trying to figure out the best way to confirm this & where to go from here...

I just received my HE-400's from Hifiman & I'm not sure whether my ears are playing tricks on me or not but it seems like the left channel is a db or two off from the right channel. It's slight but I'm pretty sure it's there. I don't know any real way to measure it to confirm though. I've tried...

ALO Pan Am desktop/portable headphone amp/DAC: Impressions and Reviews

I read all of your comments in the iDSD thread & it was part of the reason for me choosing the Ifi. I also appreciated the participation from Ifi audio in the thread, they really seem to have a good handle on DSD. I recorded in DSD for a few years so I am excited to hear the Nano. What always...

ALO Pan Am desktop/portable headphone amp/DAC: Impressions and Reviews

I can't use a different DAC between sources because I'm using the Pan Am for listening or the E17 or my Sansui with my Bell Canto DAC. I did just order the Ifi Nano DSD so I can try that between the source & have at least one item be a constant. I do wait for the Pan Am to warm up before I do...

ALO Pan Am desktop/portable headphone amp/DAC: Impressions and Reviews

I'm trying to figure out this amp. So far regardless of the tubes I have used it is brighter than I expected. I realize my Q701's are bright sounding but I don't find it as pronounced with either my E17 or Sansui AU-717 integrated amp. I also find the sound a touch bright with my HE-400's but...
