I have the HE-400 & the Nano drives it extremely well. I know the HE-500 is harder to drive but on high gain I am between 9:00-12:00, at 12:00 it's loud, I call that drinking volume. I have to say to say that even with the channel imbalance I am enjoying the HE-400 with the Ifi Audio iCan & iDsd better than my Pan Am. What a great pairing that's as portable as I'll ever need. I also prefer the HE-400 over the Q701,especially with the Ifi Audio.

Interesting results, the driver impedance was the same value on each side but the cable impedance is off. The right channel measures .4 while the left measures .5, I have no idea what that says or proves other than there are two different values on the channels on the cable test. I think it...

I felt the Russians were to harsh & bright with the AKG's but have not re listened to them with the HE-400's I found them to be a pretty aggressive sound signature with some peaks that really grated on me but it's possible the HE-400's may smooth them out a bit.
