    Closed headphones under 60$

There is no need to worry about fake HD201s. Headphones that get faked tend to be the small in-ear types like the CX300. It would scarely be worth a counterfitters time faking the HD201s and selling them for only $20. Great phones for the money! Simon

Beginner beginner headphone, any contender to the HD 201?

I have three pairs of HD201s (The kids wear them in the car) and if you want 'proper' headphones as opposed to clip-ons they can't be beaten for the money. Simon

Please help finding a comfortable headphone?

The Sennheiser HD590's are some of the most comfortable headphones ever made, very light and with velour pads. Opinions on SQ vary. I really like them but others are less keen, but they are certainly mid-fi or better. Sadly they are no longer made but they do come up on eBay from time to...

KSC-75 and PX100 are bith hard to beat at this price point fior open phnes, and I have a great fondness for the HD201 but they may get a bit sweaty after several hours use,. Simon

What is near perfect but won't break the bank?

Having read through most of this thread I have a little voice in my head that says buy a set of KSC75's or PX100s and only splah out further up the headphone food chain if they don't work for you. At the very least you will ave more of an idea what you are looking for when you do uograde. Simon

So I've really been digging my Senn HD201's lately

I had a pair a few years ago that were mainly used buy the kids to listen to MP3 files in the car until a cable issue led to ther demise. I thought they were OK for the money but nothing special. I bought another pair on impulse a few weeks ago and I am delighted with them. More (and better...

    Earphones break constantly

Have you tried buying a full-size set of budget headohones like the HD201's (about £15 delivered from Amazon UK) They are pretty robustly build and will probably outlast cheap earbuds, they also have a 2-year Guarantee. Simon

    HD800 Street Price

I think Sennheiser will keep the price high because they are flagship product, so as well as selling in their own merits they will be used to create an air of quality and expertise around Sennheiser Headphones in general by making the best headphones in the world, and to do that they need to...

    Denon AH-D1001 review

    Headphones for bus

I use AKG K414P for a combiunation of train and walking in traffic. I had to give up on in-ears due to ear wax problems. The AKGs are unashamedly not an audiophile product but they are comfortable and isolate well. The bass is plentifuland solid and the quality is perfectly good enough for an...

    PX200 Recable?

After an accident involving one of my children and a swivel chair, the cable on my beloved Sennheiser PX200's has snapped around half way along it's length. As I had finally reached a point where I was happy with the sound after an extended run-in period I am reluctant to start again with a...

    Sennheiser HD201 Impressions

Nice review! I agree with pretty much all of it. The HD201 is unkustly dismissed by many because if is so neutral and doesn't have the over-emphasis on bass that so many budget headphones have. The cable went on my pair and it wouldn't be economic to replace but I will be ordering a...

    Most Hated Headphones

Most hated for me: Sennheiser MX400 - Just awful, about on a par with freebie cheap earbuds but much less comfortable Koss Spark Plug - I was happy enough when I first got them, after a few months here I saw the light! Simon

    Good Closed Headphone that's portable?

After reading some mixed reviews here I eventually bought some AKG414Ps . I use them for a half hour each way noisy commute and they are fine for that purpose. Not the most detailed or headphones ever, and they become uncomfortable after an hour or so but not as bad as the detractors make out...

    Folding Headphones

The PX100 are certainly worthy of consideration. They sound best amped, they are the ones I listen to in a hotel room with my Little Dot Micro amp. They come with a nice compact case that will stop them coming to any harm on your travels. Simon

    Comfortable Cans?

AKG K414P might be another possibility. SQ not stellar but not too shappy at this price point. They are reasonably comfy and decent isolation for an 'on-ear' headphone. PX200 are comfy but have litle bass. Simon

    Do universal headphones actually exist?

Personally I think having the same headphones for home and portable use means too many compromises, i.e the best home headphones are too bulky to wear our and about, ansd you may need isolation in the house but not outside it, or the other way around. I would be inclined to spend most of the...
