I DO love it! It's just that this problem with the right channel is bugging me...   It is not a tube issue - I have tested several with same results.

Yes, I very much like them.    If I could just find a headphone that sounds like this from the output of a smartphone, I wouldn't have any reason to gaze at speakers anymore as the portability easily outwages the lack of depth in soundstage!   I actually also find them very comfortable...

I agree with jupitreas. I would NEVER buy a bright can for metal, but that's just me. And I don't think hd600 and 650 are slow, they are actually quite fast. If you don't believe me, check the headphone graph app over at headphone.com or maybe innerfidelity also (not sure tyll has measured...

Yeah, I already have a pair plus one extra spare tube of the 5998 on the way. Bought them from Neogeo here at head-fi. I also have a pair of 7236 and a pair 5693 reds. I'm all set :)
