Comparisons: 36 of the Top Closed/Portable Headphones Around
I started my journey using AKG K701 paired with a Corda Headsix amp + DIY-modded Ipod 5.5 gen. Sold it all off because the headphone wasn´t that fun but the biggest reason was that the setup was impractical - too big and for my usages an open headphone didn´t fit very well. Then I tried...- gechu

AKG 701 boring?
Today I mostly enjoy Bach and Vivaldi. I have never heard of La Mer, but it is not surprising because Im not very well educated in classical music - even though I enjoy it a lot. Thanks for the inspiration! /Erik- gechu

Thanks all for your feedback! Patrick, fine comment. I´ve actually followed your advice right from the start. I went from Metallica to Tori Amos and classical music. So maybe I should simply try look for new artists within this scope. Suggestions are greatly appreciated.- gechu

AKG 701 boring?
Hi guys, thought I´d write a summary. Here are some comments: "Buy something with a different sound signature. That sounds the simple problem here, you just don't like the sound. Everyone has different tastes." "It might improve if you paint it fluorescent green" And these models have...- gechu

AKG 701 boring?
I´ve used these headphones for more than two years, paired up with a DIYmod Ipod video 5.5 gen +V-Cap Dock. But it is no fun. The sound is too analytical for my taste, I guess. The reason I´m writing this is because I just realized that I find my old Ultimate Ears Super.fi 5 Pro much more...- gechu

looking for a compact amp
Hi all, My subwoofer is pretty old and the speakers cost about 300-400 euro I think, link. I think they are good, but I can´t compare them to anything which is proven to be good. This is the scenario which I plan to use the equipment: Spotify (192 KBIT/S) -> Apple Airport Express -> amp >...- gechu

DIYmod, V-Cap Dock, burn-in dilemma..
I´m really confused There are two holes at each side of the hardwired LOD. I assume those are the mini-connectors you are talking about. left mini socket (as an output) ... use any signal into the left mini input ... the right mini socket (output). At first the "left mini" is output -...- gechu

manaox2, thanks for your reply. The situation is a bit tricky since the line-out dock is hardwired to the v-caps box. Sorry for not mentioning it initially.- gechu

DIYmod, V-Cap Dock, burn-in dilemma..
According to the guys over at V-Cap Oil Capacitor comments I need +200 hours burn-in to get my v-cap dock started. Problem is that I don´t know how to feed this dock with anything other than battery-driven equipment (i.e. my DIYmodded ipod), and I don´t want to drain the batteries. Are there...- gechu

5.5G alternative battery manufactor?
The iMod seems to be a good investment sound wise, but due the fact that the supply of 5.5G iPods sooner or later will diminish, I was wondering what impact that would have on the battery-supply? Or are there other manufactures of iPod 5.5G compatible batteries? Thanks, Erik- gechu

iMod, cables, vcap - I need a new player
Hi guys, the battery in my 1st gen Nano isn´t feeling very well so I decided to go looking for a new player. Logically thinking, when selecting a setup it´s a good thing to match the performance/quality/.. of all the involved components (player, cables, amplifier ..). My current setup is a...- gechu

tweaking a SB audigy 2 ZS sound card?
Hi Panther, Take a look at this community: YouP-PAX youp|pax|YouP-PAX|PAX A4|PAX Fi - PC Audio Drivers & Application Mods - powered by Discuz! I think the name of the file you are looking for is something like: PAX_X-Fi_OS_V6.15.rar It apparently says "X-FI", but read the notes...- gechu

DAC & amp, Trend UD-10 w/ Trend TA-10?
I have an old pair of speakers that I want to use together with my computer. From previous research I´ve concluded that Trend TA-10(an amp) seems to do the trick. Right now I use the onboard ALC850, but have plans on getting a USB DAC instead of buying a internal soundcard since ALC850 is...- gechu

Albums vs songs
scompton, sad to see that you seem to have such as bad day. iPuke was just a joke commonly used by people who have problems adapting to the iTunes way of handling music. And if you would have had any sense of humor you might have understood that it was meant as a joke. And for the record, iTunes...- gechu

One reason is that in a hierarchical structure leads to higher...- gechu
