HiFiMan HE4XX
Okay so I've had some time for my ears to get accustomed to the way the HE4XX sounds and then I went ahead and switched back to my HD 650 and wow. I never realized how weak the HD650's upper end extension is until now. Also, the HE4XX blows the HD650 out of the water when it comes to...- Tman5293

Do you have an amp capable of powering a planar magnetic headphone? They require a lot of power to get the most out of them.- Tman5293

HiFiMan HE4XX
They're two completely different headphones. Not really comparable. I own both the HD650, which is identical sound wise to the HD6XX, and the HE4XX. Sound signatures are different, one is a planar magnetic and the other is a cone dynamic. They basically share no similarities besides the fact...- Tman5293

I noticed this as well. I'm listening to them through a Schiit Lyr and I have the volume just under halfway on a 6W amp. These 32ohm cans require the same amount of power as my 300ohm HD650. They definitely need that power to get the most out of them.- Tman5293

HiFiMan HE4XX
I've heard the Pro 900 and I don't find them all that special. My friend owns them and he swears by them but I just don't see it. To me they have overpowering bass and less than average soundstage. Like listening to music underwater. The problem is that it's completely subjective. One person's...- Tman5293

HiFiMan HE4XX
I picked up my HE4XXs this morning and I am seriously impressed. This is my first pair of planar magnetics and the only headphones I have on hand to compare them to are my HD650s. They easily hold up to my HD650s sound quality wise. Absolutely worth the money. Bass response is a bit more punchy...- Tman5293

Mine were also delivered today but I won't get to try them out till tomorrow as they were delivered to my apartment complex office while I was at work and now the office is closed. They got delivered 10 minutes after I left for work which is mildly infuriating.- Tman5293

I pulled the trigger on these as well. I've never owned planar magnetics and only have very limited experience with them. I've been wanting to get a pair for a long while now and these popped up at an awesome price. Figured why not? I'm sure they'll be well worth the money. I am not at all happy...- Tman5293

You don't have to imagine. We are already well beyond that. At CES Nvidia had a 12K setup, three 4K monitors in Nvidia Surround mode, running off of four Titans in SLI. Check it out: http://www.maximumpc.com/ces_2014_gaming_12k_nvidia_video- Tman5293

Oh well I thought you were actually maxing the game. Never mind then. I run it with all the settings maxed out including texture resolution and AA with no vsync because I have a 144Hz monitor. I average right around 60-70 FPS with dips going down to 35-45 FPS at times. However, when I'm...- Tman5293

Crysis 3 is absolutely fantastic maxed out. What are your rig specs? It takes the full power of my two 7970 GHz Editions to max Crysis 3.- Tman5293
