Sansa Fuze - is the maximum volume glitch still an issue?
Thanks - any idea what combo of keys? Think I will have a go with (slightly) less sensitive phones and hopefully not trash anything - Play said they will take it back if a problem...- jon_m

Sansa Fuze - is the maximum volume glitch still an issue?
Have just got an 8GB Sansa Fuze from Play Apparently, a new package released mid-February (inc a 4GB card, on top of the 8GB). After buying, though, I noticed that some people had had problems with the volume automatically setting itself to max. I don't know what this would do to my ears or...- jon_m

No worries - yes, on its way. Be grateful for any more info about the volume info, though: don't want to wind up with blown phones/speakers/ears...- jon_m

Ouch - didn't know about the random volume thing. Is that a current issue? I use IEMs at low volume - max volume would be painful...- jon_m

Right - ordered the Fuze off play. If others are looking at this, Play are doing a deal where you get a fiver off if you buy the 12GB Fuze bundle and certain CDs - I got the player and an old Kings of Leon album for £49.- jon_m

No car, which I guess makes 'near' a bit different. There's no Sainsburys or PC World I could get to without relatively long, pricey trip on public transport, or blagging a lift...- jon_m

Thanks - no Sainsburys near me, either. Price on this is tempting Cdiscount UK But suspect sound wouldn't be great at that money...- jon_m

Thanks - good tip, but no PC world store near me. Hm, £50 was more than I was hoping to spend. But I guess better to spend £50 on something that does all I want than £30 on something I'd be wanting to replace in 6 months... Anything cheaper worth considering? Or anything else at that price...- jon_m

thanks - sounds like it could do the business. Can't find on the PC World site - do you have a link? btw, the Clip doesn't take SD cards? 8GB should be ample, though...- jon_m

My Sandisk Sansa has broke so I need a replacement. I'd like something v much like the Sansa - small, reasonable sound, little or not background hiss, cheap (or cheap-ish). I have a 4GB SDHC card I was using with the Sansa - so had 6GB total memory with that. I'd want at least 2GB memory in...- jon_m

getting sandisk sansa express to function as 'normal' drive - can I
just to update - the method i used to make the express work as MSC caused problems - adding files to it this way meant it no longer recognised the tags Have returned it to MTP mode for now... Oddly, there is no usbmode option under the settings on my express.- jon_m

Headphones for gym - with good isolation, and decent sound
Right - noticed cx300 now reduced so pretty cheap. Figured I'd give them a try first - see if the lower insertion irritates less. If I can't use them, the koss phones do look interesting... Thanks.- jon_m

Headphones for gym - with good isolation, and decent sound
Thanks for the replies - I definitely do want something that gives isolation. I did think about the noise-cancelling senn phones, but wasn't impressed at all with the sound on the other noise cancelling phones I've heard...maybe try to get a listen to these, though. Anything worth looking at...- jon_m

Headphones for gym - with good isolation, and decent sound
Wearing IEMs too much seems to irritate my ears so think I'll need to wear my etys less often So I'm looking for some headphones for the gym - need something with good isolation (the more the better) to block out the awful house music. Obviously, I'd like decent sound, too - the type of...- jon_m

getting sandisk sansa express to function as 'normal' drive - can I
Got a new sansa express, that I really like. However, it appears in Windows as an MTP device - which makes it a pain to cut, copy etc files to and from it. Is there any way to just get windows to see it as a 'normal' pen drive, so I can copy files across? TIA.- jon_m

basic mp3 player - sansa or creative or ?
Right - the good news being I really like the player Sound quality v good - about the only thing I've found that doesn't hiss through my ety earphones...and lovely clear sound (better EQ would be nice, but that's being v picky ). Voice recorder not the loudest, but clear enough and works OK...- jon_m

A basic 1-8Gb MP3 player <250$ (w/ gapless)?
How about something like sandisk sansa express? - from about £20, small screen, you can drag and drop files to it in explorer (though windows sees it as a media device, not a 'normal' drive), sound quality excellent, nice design and small, can add microsd cards, didn't find any especially...- jon_m

I need some help choosing the right headphones
haven't heard the others - but suspect cx300 may fit the bill. Decent bass, and treble's certainly not OTT (if anything, slightly rolled off). Excellent price, too. Would still be using myself if not for their annoying tendency to slip out of my ears- jon_m

Amazon say I can return the player if the voice recorder's lousy, so I ended up ordering the sansa express 1gb - Amazon.co.uk: Sansa Express 1Gb MP3 Player: Electronics & Photo: SanDisk I decided an FM tuner would be better than the extra 1gb (2gb with FM out of stock ) I guess I can add...- jon_m

Re. the Clip - that's more expensive here than the Express. You get all the best deals in the US thanks - I saw that re. the cards. Could be useful to transfer recordings, if the quality makes it worthwhile...- jon_m

basic mp3 player - sansa or creative or ?
thanks. Checked the online manual - no line-in... I don't suppose anyone has tried the mic in the sansa express - good enough for lecture recordings? Anyway, looks like the Sansa may be the one to go for - assuming mic is usable... Not that I'm being demanding - wanting good recording, SQ etc...- jon_m
