I'd like to turn my SR80's into mobile iPod phones by fitting a short-ish coil cord, single sided exit instead of using a 'yoke'. Looks like a small cable could be run inside the vinyl headpiece to make it single sided, but what is a souce for buying coil cable (and a small mini-plug)...

I'm asking for any experience on how the 990's might change after appropriate run-in time. I've had the DT-880's for 2 weeks, and they changed subtly after ~180 hours on them now, with smoother highs and slightly more bass - in other words, they tilted slightly downward in the sonic spectrum...

I know there was a newer design for 2005, but don't know what it looks like. I've seen 2 different DT-880's: 1) flat outer earcup with 'beyerdynamic' tag in the middle. 2) more rounded outer earcup with 'DT 880' tag at the bottom. Which is the newer model? Thanks

Anyone know if the different type of copper and silver wire LOD's have typical sound signatures that are audibly different? My equipment (Dt880's, Hornet amp) lean to the 'bright' side, so I want to avoid an LOD that will exagerate brightness any more. Thanks, John F
