Anyone here who have tried the Hugo 2 yet? Love to hear your impression!

Does anyone knows if you can use the Chord Poly with the first gen Hugo? Any thoughts on the new Hugo? Will it be a big step up in SQ compared to the first gen Hugo?

Another satisfied SE846 user here. I got mine now for over 13 months and I still love them. I wonder if changing the stock cable would improve the sound, but still haven't bought one. So I got the feeling there is still some room for improvement left.

  Yeah, that is something I hear/read a lot regarding dCS, that it lacks musicality, too sterile, too detailed and overwhelming the first few minutes and after that just fatiguing. Also the comments about needing the full stack for the Paganini DAC made me second guessing before hearing the DAC...

I like the DIY route, I went this route with my speakers, but I found it difficult to audition these DIY dacs. I am convinced they offer an excellent price/performance ratio, but when spending 5k I really need to audition it. Since DAC tech is changing rapidly, the resale value is also important...

Tomorrow I will audition the dCS Scarlatti(and probably the Rossini) and EMM Labs DAC2x and compare my own Paganini dac with these. I hope differences with the Paganini are huge so I can convince myself it is worth the investment.

  The Planet Ocean Liquid Metal( don't know if that is the LM in POLM?) is also a very nice looking diver. To add another one, the Panarai Submersible is also a nice diver.

The Hugo uses a Spartan-6 FPGA chip, the new Mojo uses a Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA chip. I can imagine there is a difference between the two, but at this point I am not sure what those differences will entail.

When will the competition end? And when will the winner be announced?

Does the new 846-k offer an impovement of SQ over the 846-cl? Or is it just a limited edition with a different color?
