I Notice in the HeadAmp site that the HIFIMAN Shangri-la can be used with the BHSE and probably with the Grand Cayman. The Shangri-la is almost 3 times the price of the Stax X9000. Is it really better than the STAX when powered by these amps? Any one with such experience should communicate!

Will (or did) you make a deposit to reserve your GC? A comparison between BH and GC is what everybody is expecting.

"the price will be understood when you lift it out of the crate" Do you mean it's very heavy? Case made of iridium? Let's be serious: I know that precisly-made cases are very expansive, but the Grand Cayman, as shown on pictures, has only one case, whereas the BHSE had two. Important questions...

Which dac / streamer pair is it? This is not quite clear in the associated pictures.

Problem: when people who ordered a X9000 finally get the little marvel, it may be outdated and outperformed by something even better...

IMO, the main question isn't "how to buy a X9000 at a price lower than the MRSP", but "Is the X9000 worth buying when you already have a SR-009S", that is, "Is the X9000 significantly better than the SR-009S"? People with experience, please let us know!

YES. When it comes to electrostatic sound, OTL tube amps are the best solution.
