Hi! Can't it be that it sounds better because of the Moon 430HA DAC? I think the SRM-700S is the more expensive one...
Hello. No, I use a Marantz SA10 digital player as my source, with balanced analogue connections to the Moon (with a further connection to the iFi of course). I have the 430HA which, unlike the 430HAD, has no DAC section. This means differences between amps and drivers are quite obvious.

George is in Canada
You may also want to contact Kerry (NY) who is on this forum

My T2 from Kerry is nearly complete.. what I can say is that he's an awesome person to work with. All of my previous hesitance of going DIY was immediately gone after I contacted him. Just a good and easy guy to work with.

Also, I have his demo prototype mini T2 unit and it's really, really damn good. My BHSE should be headed back to me from headamp in about 10 days, so will compare the two, but the prototype seems to be better in quite a few areas--I can say for certain that the 009 (which I know best) is better with the prototype, but can't speak too definitively with everything else just yet. Need more time and the BHSE back. But if the mini sounds this good, I can't wait to receive the full big brother DIY T2 and see how it sounds.

Expensive dosent mean it sounds good, atlease this dosent apply in the STAX world, Expensive because it sounds good is hifiman logic.:deadhorse::deadhorse:

In fact I recommand the 700S to the flagship T8000 as well. The 700S is evolution of the 727 circult design where the T8000 is a motify 727 with a electroharmonic tube output stage, infact many STAX amp design can be traces back its board design from decade old amp model. If you want something which is different I will highly recommand you to check out third party amps.
The IFI ProiESL is very good indeed and it definatly sound better than the 727 in my opinion which both the 700S and T8000 are based, and tell you what, I think the 717 is the a better STAX amp and cheaper....

Santa came early this year :L3000:
Just for everyone info, when did you place your order? Mine was place on 9/24 and arrived 12/07,
then we will know how many months wait is standard for the X9000.

Well, I placed my order on 25/11 but that's not relevant, as the local dealer ordered this particular one long ago, around the time it became available.

When I bought mine he ordered the second batch and the new delivery estimation is now June/July 2022, so it seems the queu is getting longer...

I also ordered from Headamp on November 1st and knew it would be late December or early January at least. Based on your case it might be quite a bit longer :slight_frown:

Same lol. Hoping to hear one at Canjam NYC first though.
However, why would a dealer give you a discount on a product they don't have a surplus of? They can sell it for MSRP and still have people lined up.

Anyone that has ordered the SR-X9000 for a great price, please pm me the details. Looking to purchase one soon, and usually don't like to pay MSRP...
Good luck with that…

IMO, the main question isn't "how to buy a X9000 at a price lower than the MRSP", but "Is the X9000 worth buying when you already have a SR-009S", that is, "Is the X9000 significantly better than the SR-009S"? People with experience, please let us know!
