I'm more interested in what that did to the treble, really. It completely reflects the DIFFERENCE those pads will make though. And his measurements look identical to what I see when measure mine :)

They have a flat response up to around 600Hz, where the high mid bump starts. It's got a bump centred around 1K. This makes the lower mids seem recessed by comparison, but that's not really what it's like. The zmf pads really just bring low mids up and high mids down so they meet. It just sounds...

Fun fact: if you measure Verum One without an ear model at all, and only using a flat foam coupler that absorbs all reflections, the frequency response is an entirely flat line from 10Hz to over 10KHz. That means that all the variables and bumps in the FR comes from how the reflections interact...

Has anyone here tried speaker doping? Basically coating the driver in some way to reduce distortion. I'm very curious about this. Edit: the Beyerdynamic DT880/990/770 drivers are all doped, and have a matte textured coating that looks like glue or some other goop (though it's totally hard and dry).

Can someone compare how the Sundara strap is attached VS the 400i/560 v1 headband? Do you think the old strap could be transplanted?

I've made up my mind personally. If I can't get a new headband or just a strap sent to me, I am RMAing them and either getting V1's or abandoning the Hifiman idea. I don't care to send things back and forth like that. Ideally they'll just send a new strap.
