Yay got my DT990s back. Sounding much better :)

E6. Its just the standard S4 tin, but i need a place to store the E6 between uses (i dont want my gear permanently attached to my phone), so i just trimmed some of the foam out.

Yes its a nexus, and yes it needs an amp lol. For the $35 i payed for the E6, its easily 10x better

They are a nice set of phones, but the ear buds are kind of uncomfortable. There is also the thought that i may be missing a lot of detail/sound experience with a $100 pair of headphones compared to say a $300 set of dual drivers

I wish i could get it at the same price as you Americans!   unfortunately, the cheapest down here in AUS i can get (with AUS warranty) is $540 for the D2000, and $770 for the D5000.
