Semi-noob needing some advice for moving into speaker territory (perhaps the Audioengine A2+s)
Quick add-on question about cables. Can I connect my NFB 12 with the JBLs just with this: http://www.amazon.com/Hosa-Cable-CPR202-Dual-Inch/dp/B000068O17/ref=pd_tcs_compl_MI_6?ie=UTF8&refRID=02K22F2NGAACTFWCMCRR Still a noob with balanced vs. unbalanced connections, but I thought you couldn't...- jsilbert95

Semi-noob needing some advice for moving into speaker territory (perhaps the Audioengine A2+s)
Hmm... Okay when you put it that way, it makes less sense to make a $250 purchase which I will only utilize in a small dorm room. So the original speakers I was thinking of we're the "ever-popular" rokit 5s or at least something similar. I found out from my friend that the rokits are actually...- jsilbert95

Semi-noob needing some advice for moving into speaker territory (perhaps the Audioengine A2+s)
Hmm... Okay that all sounds very promising, and I'll definitely look further into it. The only problem is those are all actually around the same dimensions as the speakers I initially said were too big... Hence why the A2+s were the best for me for the size they are. So I'm thinking there are...- jsilbert95

Thanks for your response. Very helpful. So SQ is important to me, but unfortunately I can't compromise on size (*sigh* college dorms...). At the very very least, I was hoping for a way to listen to my music out loud that sounds better than my old ****ty bose stereo thing. If anything I...- jsilbert95

I was checking those out before, but I think anything of that size is too big for my purposes right now. And part of me is just thinking of making it easy on myself and skipping the sub unless I felt like I needed it later. I was just wondering if anyone had a particular experience...- jsilbert95

Semi-noob needing some advice for moving into speaker territory (perhaps the Audioengine A2+s)
Hi everyone, I've been happy with my HD600s and Audio-GD NFB 12.1, but I've decided to try some speakers/monitors for my desk in my dorm room (relatively small double around 203 sq ft) At first I was pointed towards the Rokit KRK 5s but now I see that those are too big for my purposes...- jsilbert95

Oh no! Not another Momentum vs. Amperior Thread!
Okay disclaimer, I have read a ton about the comparisons between the two and I am trying to figure out something a bit more with my decision, so bear with me. I am fairly new to audiophilia, having gotten my first serious headphones (senn hd600s) 3-4 years ago, but my current set up is...- jsilbert95

Headset with XLR mic
I know that is an option, but I was wondering if there was an all-in-one solution that wasn't too pricey... If not, obviously then that's what I'll do.- jsilbert95

Headset with XLR mic
Hey everyone, I'm looking for a headset to use during Skype music lessons, which means that I've got my bass running through a small mixer and then into my Mac. The only catch is I need the mic on the headset to run to an XLR. My teacher uses the Audio Technica BPHS1, which has the...- jsilbert95

V-MODA Crossfade M-80 Reviews
I just opened my pair of M-80s, and after about 20 minutes I plugged the headphone wire out of the headphone (properly not by the cable itself) then put it back in, and now my left driver is broken too... And I really didn't like the way the M-80s fit and felt on my head (even though I didn't...- jsilbert95

Also, can anyone speak to if using the vamp or another similar product for the iPhone 4/4s with the M-80s changes/ameliorates the "muddiness" i have read about in some reviews?- jsilbert95
