Need help with Superlux 668Bs and pairing them up with a soundcard.

I'm not sure how you bought 668Bs without hearing about their potential sibilance issues. xD   I have used my Samson 850s(Essentially a 668B clone) with my Xonar DX for over a year(and love them!). Yes they were sibilant when I first got them, but I got used to it rather quickly with the...

Looking for good headphones for a gaming friend.

I seriously suggest you look into the 668s/Samsons. Very good gaming headphones considering their price. Also there are cheaper options than modmic (zalman clip on), its way overpriced.

Just received Samson SR850, disappointed/confused with the sound quality

Give them a few more days for your ears to adjust to them atleast, I quite enjoy mine.

I believe the the How to Train Your Dragon soundtrack has a fair amount of bagpipes. Great score in general tbh.

    M-Audio Studiophile Q40 - Review, and Appreciation

Just stopped by to say thanks for such a great review for a great headphone . Now you've got me tempted to try out 770 velours for mine when I have some money around :) Also I suppose its worth seconding that you really need to buy deeper pads for these headphones. As great as they sound, I...

    Headphones with sound like beats.

I second the vote for the Q40, definitely a Beats-killer. Monster bass, but doesn't ruin the mids or highs at all. Vocals are very pleasant!

    Headphones under $100, well-rounded

If you have the cash, the Q40 is a very good headphone. The (amazing)bass can be overpowering at times, but its fairly easy to tame with EQ. Otherwise I'd get the Superlux 681, which is basically the Samson 850, but it's $36 on Amazon at the moment.   Personally I prefer my 850s more for...

    Best headphone for around 100?

I can vouch that the Q40 is indeed a bass monster (with solid mids/highs as well), however I had significant comfort issues with them until I got some DT770 pads for 30 bucks. They may be a little above what you're willing to pay for, but if you're comfortable with buying used, you can probaly...

    Headphones for gaming only.

    Picked up M-Audio Q40 - WOW

Ordered some 770 pads, hopefully they'll help out with the comfort issues. Other than that they're still sounding epic. :)

Samson SR 850 vs. Grado SR60i for gaming?

You either get used to the highs or you EQ them down, I really like mine for gaming, and music in general.

    Picked up M-Audio Q40 - WOW

So I did end up buying the used pair of Q40s. For 60 bucks with shipping, I got quite a good deal indeed! You can certainly tell that they're used but the sound is GOOD. Strong smooth bass, and the sound stage is better than I expected. Mids and Highs are solid as well, almost as detailed as my...

    Samson SR850 vs Panasonic RP-HTF600-S

The 850s do have bright highs, but you get used to it quick. Other than that they sound great and perform great in games. IMO get the Samsons.

Does anyone have an opinion on entry level headphones?

Fiio has a good selection of cheap, portable, and generally good performing AMPs/DACs.   http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=fiio

    SR850 Initial Impressions

When I first got mine, I had a bit of trouble adjusting to the highs. Couldn't turn my music all the way up, had to EQ down the highs, etc. However after having them for a few months I've really gotten used to it. I think burn in helped some, but mostly my ears just got used to it. Now, I don't...

    help me chose with ~ $40 budget: SR850 vs. UR55 vs. RP-HTF600-S vs. ??

I have both the HTFs and the Samsons. For me, the HTFs have smoother/stronger bass, but are also noticeably muffled/muddy in the mids. The Samson's have nice mids, clear (but) bright highs, and certainly solid bass for such a cheap (semi)open headphone. Samson's also have a nicer soundstage, in...
