Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
They definitely seem like an interesting budget choice. How did you find the build quality on them? I know the case looks a little flimsy, but can’t tell a lot about the iems from the reviews. I’m not the biggest fan of the AirPod look myself, but these don’t look too revolting to me. Sound...- varyV

Going fully Wireless IEMs. Too soon? Or are we there yet?
I’m amazed by how well the G1 seem to be holding their own against much more expensive sets like the E8s. Either the Havits are punching well above their weight, or we have a mediocre first gen run of TWEs, perhaps even a combination of the two. Has anyone else had any experience with the...- varyV

New Beyer DT1350
So I just received an open box of 1350s and they sound excellent. I'm a little apprehensive about putting too much pressure anywhere, though...for some reason, I don't feel like this is the kind of headphone I can throw around. I did have a question for owners, though - the opening...- varyV

REVIEW: Yulong Sabre A18 Reference headphone amp
So, the A18 is here today. Initial impressions: out of the box, very detailed and smooth. Any hiss present on bad recordings is apparent, but not distracting. Some warmth with the D18 combo. The HD800s sound very nice, but a little sibilant. I'm hoping this will go away after burn in. Also, I...- varyV

REVIEW: Yulong Sabre A18 Reference headphone amp
I would think so...the amp really sounds incredible with my LCD3s and the HD800s. Hell, I'm running stock tubes and I still don't have the "hot treble" on the hd800s, unless I'm running "hot" recordings. I still have to roll better tubes (broke as sin after the A18), but I'm sure things will get...- varyV

REVIEW: Yulong Sabre A18 Reference headphone amp
Just reminding you boys: have about $200 of disposable money for tubes, so if you can guide me, this goes into the guide! Cheers anyways!- varyV

Well, I've had the LD VI+ for about two months now, so ask away! If you want comparisons, the A18 should be here in 4-5 days.- varyV

REVIEW: Yulong Sabre A18 Reference headphone amp
Well, as it goes, My equipment for testing is an LCD3 and an HD800 with the D18 for the DAC and the A18 vs the LD MK VI+ (stock) - all connected via balanced cables for the amp. Will post results soon. If someone can help me with tube selection for the LD, I could also do a rolled LD VI+ vs A18...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: I suppose the only reliable way to determine that is to do an A/B with another pair. There will be differences with pairs from even the same batch, just hard to believe that the variation could be night and day. I know Audeze has an acceptable margin of deviation, but wide...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: I was listening to some Joanna Newsom recordings (as opposed to some soundtracks and classical pieces which have held my interest for the last few days) and I was finally devoted to listening for a while before making a decision on a headphone/genre. The 800 excels at classical/...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: The HD800 sounds absolutely ethereal on the MKVI+, even on the stock tubes. The LCD sounds great too, perhaps a little syrupy when compared to the Soloist (from memory), just not in the same league as the Senns. I'm getting better tubes soon, so I'd be able to discern better. Also...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: I know the midrange is still there, but what's been bugging me is the bass and a little of the lower mids. Perhaps its the tubes in my amp (I'm running stock LD MKVI+). I'd like to try these phones on a different amp, but the only other person I know in town who even has an amp...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: As a recent owner of the HD800, I concur (unless there is something wrong with my pair). The level of detail that the HD800 is quite ahead of the LCD3. I was beginning to wonder if these are actually defective (I'm May 2013). The HD800s sound a lot more lifelike for classical...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: It was primarily on vinyl flac rips...I believe it has to do with dynamic range compression. The flac rips are less loud than their mp3 counterparts, so I have to go higher on the pot for these. Even these days, I find myself going up to 1 'O clock on the Little Dot VI+ (which is...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: I know! I got the Soloist based on Tyll's innerfidelity review. Perhaps I was expecting too much, but at the moment, it sounded worse than the LCD-2/Soloist combo. The LCD-3s just didn't have the weight and authority of the LCD-2s. I tried them on a friend's Little Dot VI+ and...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
I felt the same way about the combo...even though the Burson was really resolving, it was quite mellow sounding. I felt that I had to go higher on the volume to make up for the lack of energy in the sound and ended up on high gain at 5'o clock. It's not that easy to get the LCD3s right as one...- varyV

New Audeze LCD3
Quote: Substantially? I understand that the Cavallis are good amps, but aren't they also neutral? I've had the bass sound different on the LCD3s on different amps, but the change has been primarily based on energy - the bass response changes as well, but not that drastically.- varyV
