AKG K271 vs. Audio Technica ATH M50?
I need a pair of closed cans for tracking/music production. These are at a similar price point and both have good reviews. What say ye?- Morten

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
A quick question that's probably been asked before: how do you fit the foam pads along with the earpads? If you lay the foam pads first, the earpads won't be able to 'click' in place.- Morten

What is AKG's best closed-back design?
Quote: Thanks a lot. Are you 100% positive that it's the same phone apart from the accessory pads? On another tangent: if you were to choose between K27x (closed series) and K24x (semi-closed series), which would you prefer? I've given up on finding a pair of K340. Application...- Morten

What is AKG's best closed-back design?
I don't think I can get my hands on the K340, nor the K270 Playback. But looking into the 27x series. What's the best bet there - the K271 MKII? Or the K270 Studio (two drivers like the Playback)? Other? I value resolution and neutrality above anything. Going for a closed design this time...- Morten

So the K271/272 are superior to say the 240/241? What is the difference between K271 MkI and MKII?- Morten

USB-powered amp/DA @ around $150?
I've come to realise the headphone output of my MacBook isn't very good. So I'm looking for a conveniently sized headphone amp/DA converter to plug into the USB port. It'll drive my Panasonic HJE900 as well as Sennheiser HD650. What are the options, what do you recommend?- Morten

Please help me pick IEM < £100 or so. No amp.
Merry Christmas everyone. Just got home with the HJE900s (gift from my parents that I bought myself). Man, are they bright!? And revealing, detailed. But bright! I wasn't expecting this degree of treble. Is it a question of burn-in? Else I'm gonna look towards another solution.- Morten

By the way - the foremeost application will be producing/mixing music, a passionate hobby of mine (don't know why I forgot to say in my first post in this thread), when traveling with my laptop. So I need an IE that's transparent and neutral, unhyped. If that's even possible at this price point?- Morten
