Shure SRH 940 - one of the best closed?

Quote: That is the oddest opinion Ive ever heard about the 940s.The vocals are best part of these phones. They sound like the singer is singing to you in a chair from across a table.Great phones if you enjoy vocals!

Shure SRH 940 - one of the best closed?

940s are great with most genres classic rock pop jazz acoustic.I They are not bass heavy but bass suffice and the base is tight. I have enjoyed mine very much, they display a lot of detail very revealing. You should test these at a store first though as with any headphone before you purchase them.

Is the Shure SRH940 right for me? Any Kalafina fans?

Quote: yes the 840s are basically the 940s with more mid bass. One caveat though my own personal experience with the 840s were that they were a little more finicky about source material than the 940s (if the recording was done well they sounded like nothing you've heard before but if it...

I'm  also keeping my eye on the new 1840 coming out soon. Its sounds like it might be out of my price range and I prefer closed cans for listening privacy. But the 1840 still have me intrigued they are a good looking phone but that isnt what its all about is it?

Anyone else actually prefer the Shure SRH940s over their younger brother 840s?

I liked the 840 more for the bass, the treble was slightly more sparkly, but I found it was a little more finicky with some of my cds.I prefer the 940 for this reason and with the bass being so tight I dont mind that its a little low on the mid bass, really dont feel like Im missing anything.the...

Is the Shure SRH940 right for me? Any Kalafina fans?

I own the 940 and would describe it as very detailed, beautifully represented vocals (very forward) and you do not get a lot of bass but very tight bass.I really like them but some people consider them base light ,I dont feel like Im missing bass.I you need the extra bass the 840 has very...
