Apologies if this has been covered already. For those that own both, was the Elear a stop-gap purchase until you can purchase the Clear or are they both worth owning? I am curious how often owners upgrade to the Clear after owning the Elear.

For what it is worth, the DT770 Pro and the Custom Studio I own have the velour pads. My comments were based on the velour pads. I believe only the non-pro version ships with pleather pads.

I am interested in the Hifiman Arya. I haven't had an opportunity to listen to this yet, but it is on my audition list because of how much I like the Sundara.

The Schiit Modi 3 is often recommended. As are the Topping models. I like the D50s which includes a nice remote, as well as an excellent Bluetooth 5 implementation.

Another vote for the HIFIMAN SUNDARA. I have used it with the same modi3/magni3 setup and they sound great to me. It appears to be a good value at the new $349 price, and they do show up on the for sale forums here occasionally as well. Love mine.

Note that while the 789 and 887 are nearly identical in features and price, the SP200 lacks a pass-through output. In addition, there seems to be a number of complaints about the volume control of the SP200. It is however, a bit cheaper in price.

Both devices are known for being transparent, so they shouldn't color the sound. As you know, you can optionally use the PE and tone controls within the ADI-2 to adjust the sound curve to your preference.

I believe the benefit would be the added power to drive difficult to drive headphones that the adi-2 may struggle with. The ADI-2 lacks a balanced amplified output.
