Oregon - interested in a summer 2007 meet?
I look away for a bit and this thread just livened up! A sponsored meet sounds good for both us and the sponsors; giving them increased exposure never hurt anyone except for head-fi pocket books- Gigabomber

Oregon - interested in a summer 2007 meet?
I think we can use a bit of a bump here. Perhaps one of us can try messaging a few of the good old boys that were at previous meets.- Gigabomber

I am definitely interested. After June 14 or so (the end of the next quarter) is looking good.- Gigabomber

Camera as a Birthday Present (Part 2) New info!
I just spent a bunch of hours looking over at Dpreview and the Nikon seems to be pulling way ahead in terms of function for the money. The standard lenses that come with the Cannon Rebels' are apparently horrible so the Nikon is the clear leader in terms of value. Many people seem to say...- Gigabomber

Camera as a Birthday Present (Part 2) New info!
My mother works for a company that does business with Sears and they are having a special 3 hour sale this weekend and she actually deals with them so she (and her family) get to go. I need to know which of these you'd pick for her (and which lens if necessary). Here is a more direct link...- Gigabomber

Camera as a Birthday Present (Part 2) New info!
So we went to Costco and I walked up to a rack of cameras and just looked around like I was just browsing the syles curiously and managed to uncover that she wants. Using some of the vocabulary found here (Dpreview): an SLR with a fast shutter speed (with a good burst, or continuous picture...- Gigabomber

Heads up PAYPAL SCAM [not 56k friendly]
I almost got nailed on one of these a long time ago but stopped half way before submitting when they asked me for a password then my SS# and then another password and I looked at the forward and realized it was the exact same paypal type of deal.- Gigabomber

Need a Camera as a Birthday present
So has Cannon basically taken over the camera scene? I remember old Nikons used to have the best picture quality.- Gigabomber

Need a Camera as a Birthday present
All we have is an old Cannon digital that, I think, sucks. The new Nikon is coming out soon, and I would have to get it the day it hits the shelves if i want it as a present, but 600 bucks (with lens) for a new model...I dunno about that. I'm more interested in something tried and true...- Gigabomber

Need a Camera as a Birthday present
My mother's birthday is coming up and she's been talking about a new camera, and I wouldn't mind going in on a good camera that I get to use extensively either soooo..... I'm deciding to look around the $400 mark and want the best I can get. Please recommend the good stuff along with any...- Gigabomber

Oregon Meet 08-19-06
Is that a Corda Aria I spy in the Pic of James Bean? Ahh k1000's and an Aria, I've been eyeing them both for a while now. Can't wait for the impressions. I bet the meet just wasn't the same without our mascot Seeberg. -
Yet another Oregon meet...
After this last week of classes, I think I'm going to sit this meet out. I've had a pretty rough few weeks at at school, managing hostile group members and finals weren't so good this time around. My ears don't feel quite right for listening, and I doubt I'll be feeling much better...- Gigabomber

Hard time dealing with death
You know, I was just talking about how different the grief process is when someone is an old friend or family member, but not too close. In some ways it is harder because we don't know exactly how to grieve for them the way we might for someone closer, and it may cause us to postpone our grief...- Gigabomber

Do Americans know that this spelling is correct?
Wrong in an abstract: my computer doesn't understand it, I don't really care how center is spelled, and what does it really matter anyway. And don't get me started on American punctuation and the difficulties we have with basic American grammar rules and limited vocabularies (mine included on...- Gigabomber

Stock Market Hyponosis...and forums.
Be careful there getting so hooked that your borderline daytrading cause it will drive you insane and, probably, broke. Yet another Oregon meet...
Checking some of our updated profiles, it looks like we may well have double the equipment we've had at previous meets. I'll bring my (old style) DT-880s and MicroStack as usual, and I want to put a request in for comparative amps around the 250 to 400 dollar range along with any other...- Gigabomber

Michelle Wie - I don't like what I'm seeing here
Well, we know she will be famous and make more money because of this regardless of the "gender war" aspect. It was my understanding that all kinds of people of all ages play golf, so I don't really think it's a big deal. It is, however, a big deal when people start talking about it. "I think...- Gigabomber
