Link: Beresford TC-7510 bashing and Headfi Bashing?
AS1, thanks for stepping up and doing what I'm sure a lot of us have been wanting to do for some time. Herandu: I'm a Beresford customer too (MK6, possibly doing MK6/3 mods soon), and have been silently watching the active TC-7510 threads on here and HiFiWigwam from the sidelines for quite...- RJW1138

Beresford 7510 MK 6 Mini Review/comparison
Hey gang, Well, it's official. I replaced a Cambridge Audio Azur 640C v1 with the TC-7510 Mk6. At first, the Beresford was harsh and brittle, and I was really freaked; it literally took about 100 hours for it to develop its proper sound, which was a vast improvement. If I doubted break-in...- RJW1138

All the DACs money can buy...
Just discovered another DAC that's not on this list, from the pro audio world: ATI DM200. It has a headphone amp too, which I'm always all over. And here it is being sold pretty cheap: http://www.bswusa.com/proditem.asp?item=DM200- RJW1138

Beresford 7510 MK 6 Mini Review/comparison
Holy $#!t! So I've had my TC-7510 mk6 burning in and partially in-use for probably about 120 hours or more, and have put about 30 hours on the headphone portion. It has DRASTICALLY improved for the better in terms of tonal balance, resolution, transients, and soundstaging! I'm really digging...- RJW1138

Beresford 7510 MK 6 Mini Review/comparison
Hey gang. I've been following this thread for a while, as I ordered a TC-7510 mk6 a few weeks ago and have been anxiously awaiting its arrival and a verdict on the performance of this DAC. My plan was to replace my Cambridge Audio 640C (v1) with the Beresford, hoping that it would have better...- RJW1138

Bacon! (not Kevin)
Some great choices here gang! My addition is a homemade carbonara with some nice smoky bacon instead of that wimpy pancetta, and the extra unorthodox step of some green chile and giving it a subtle hint of heat. Delish! I like mine over whole wheat linguine, with some salad and a piece of...- RJW1138

Closed advice - Senn 280, Senn 25, Beyer 250, AKG 271
I was looking for the best closed headphones under $300 that I could find, portability and comfort being trumped by sound quality. I auditioned the DT250/250, HD 25-1, and K271S at home for several days (had to pay for all 3 up front!). I broke each one in for approximately 24 hours...- RJW1138

Closed headphone for rock shootout.
I picked the DT250/250 over the DT770M, AKG K271S, and Sennheiser HD-25 in a rigorous shootout, consisting of plenty of rock. I'm very happy with them. However, it's too bad I was never able to try the ATH-A900 (apparently not available in Canada!?).- RJW1138

Your biggest headphones dissappointment?
Grado SR125 - Decent at low volumes only, piercing and painful at satisfying listening levels. There's something wrong with those headphones, Mr. Grado. AKG K271S - Neutral studio monitoring headphones? Bwahahahah!!! Where's the bass? There ISN'T ANY!!!! And they're not even as smooth and...- RJW1138

Questions regarding line levels, headphones, and amps
Hey all, As an experiment, I hooked up my headphones (Grado SR125) directly to the line level outs (not headphone out) on my CD player (Cambridge Audio 640C) through an RCA -> 1/4" stereo adapter, and I was surprised by what I heard. (I first tested my concept with an old junky pair to make...- RJW1138

New source: NAD C521BEE, Cambridge Azur 640C or Harman Kardon HD 970
Wow! That's really awesome. I didn't know that. I WISH more players had this incredibly useful feature. This is usually only found on much more expensive players. Very cool. I wish my CA had this feature, so I could route my computer's audio into it, and take advantage of its D/A section which...- RJW1138

Smuh, Glad to hear you made a decision and seem to be enjoying it. However, did you actually get to hear any of the players before making your decision? I'm curious as to how you made your decision and why you picked the HK, and how it compares to the other players you have listed...- RJW1138

New source: NAD C521BEE, Cambridge Azur 640C or Harman Kardon HD 970
I moved up to an Azur 640C from a NAD C521Bee. In my system, the Cambridge is more tonally balanced, a bit more detailed, and has a larger soundstage. The NAD is warm, lacking in the upper midrange and treble. Perhaps the only area where the NAD might have a slight edge over the Cambridge is in...- RJW1138

Bring It On, Liquid Skin and Abandoned Shopping Trolley Hotline are amazing in my books. In Our Gun is much more hit and miss; There's still some great songs, and they even went in new creative directions that really impressed me, but there's a few that just don't do anything for me either...
