Design a subwoofer for headphones
I have a set of panasonic 'brain shaker' (I believe is their name) headphones that go behind my head... they sound alright, but are very very uncomfortable (for me at least...).. Anyway, on the back, they have something like that... it doesn't quite 'slam' but it is noticable... Here's a...- se7enty7

amplifier PARTS
Alright, So, basically, I can get everything at radio shack that is at 'acceptable' quality except for the opamp? (for a cmoy) This information is a bit re-assuring. However, I think I feel that I would get much better parts by buying stuff from JMT. Anywho, I will keep you all...- se7enty7

amplifier PARTS
Alright, I cannot spend $200 on an amp, so I have decided to build one. I have build rheobus, lcd's, fan speed devices, and I have a fair amount of knowledge as far as soldering and ohms law, etc. etc. I am convinced that I can build a headphone amp. However, I am 17. I am also emancipated (I...- se7enty7

Building an amp for the HD-590's
I wouldn't have much trouble building it, my problem is obtaining the parts. I do not have a credit card, and therefore have no means of purchasing many things online. However, I can send a postal money order, which you can cash at any US post office. Is there some sort of 'kit' that someone...- se7enty7

Building an amp for the HD-590's
That looks great.... However, it doesn't HAVE to be portable. I plan on enclosing it in a medium sized aluminum project case I have. ( 6x8 inches, depth of maybe 3 inches) and can/should be run off of a wallwart.... Also, where do I find stuff like a Burr-Brown opamp? Thanks se7- se7enty7

Building an amp for the HD-590's
Hi, I am currently driving my senn HD-590's off of my sound card (sb audigy). They sound much better when powered off of my Denon reciever. I want to build/buy an amp that would be ideal for having a sound card as a source. I am looking for cheapest way without sacrificing TOO much...- se7enty7

Amp for HD-590's
Hi, I bought the HD-590's for $170 the other day... They are being driven off of a sb audigy with 320kbs mp3's. They sound great. However, they sound a lot better when powered off of my Denon reciever. What is a good CHEAP amp that would go well with a sound card and the hd-590's? I...- se7enty7

Help me choose a set of headphones!
For the HD-497's.... IMO a lot of the people that recommend these must have only tried them temporarily, like at a store or something. I bought these at circuit city for $69.99 and broke them in for over 60hrs. The sounded EXCELLENT for the price. They really do sound great. However...- se7enty7

HD-590 @ $179.99
I just purchased the senn HD-590's for $179.99 Truthfully I feel extremely ripped off. I paid $69.99 for the HD-497's and they were so uncomfortable I literally couldn't wear them. I have now paid $100 more JUST for comfort. That is ridiculous. IMO they sound almost excactly the same. (The...- se7enty7

HD-497 and COMFORT?
I just found a guy on ebay that has Sennheiser HD-590's for $150 shipped. So far those seem like the best buy. How are these comfort-wise? Is this a good price? I don't really want to buy something in Germany... with shipping I could just get the HD-590's- se7enty7

HD-497 and COMFORT?
I now have them spread over the top of my Lian-Li aluminum computer case... about 8 inches I would guess wide. They are spread across the top of a Dell computer 80% of the time, which is about 6 wide, but they go right back to their original shape. If this doesn't fix them by tommorow...- se7enty7

HD-497 and COMFORT?
I am now the 'happy' owner of a set of HD-497's I bought at Circuit City for $70. I know I could have gotten them cheaper, but at only $5 more after shipping I couldn't wait. My ONLY problem with these is that they are uncomfortable to wear for longer than 10 to 15 minutes. My ears turn red...- se7enty7

Dell PC headphone jack!?!?
We buy Dells because they are one of the only major oem companies that put fairly standard components into their systems. It is a problem if you cannot replace one video card with another, or sound, or whatever. They use generic nvidia cards, nothing special, same with sound. They also offer a...- se7enty7

Dell PC headphone jack!?!?
Here's a tip about Dell support: 1) call 1-888-660-3355. It is their 'premier support' number, but it will work with any service tag. 2) According to Dell, it is ALWAYS a software issue. They usually want you to format at LEAST once before sending out a service tech. 3) It is pretty...- se7enty7
