Great for metal? Hell yeah！\m/ I am MeTaL fans too BUT I think playback well metal music not only needs dynamics and slam It needs high resolution , smooth and stability also so that you could really taste metal and feel the soul of it IMO, playback metal is harder than classical

I have been tried HE6 on some of these receiver ,I thought that sounds a bit rough...so I give up this solution It is just like which kind of Cuisine you like, French or Big hamburger ? If you ask which one I like.... KungPao chicken of course :D

I dont think so This kind of “grandpa” receiver could provides enough power to drive HE6 from speaker output which needs a banana convert cable or a HE-Adapter to handle other plate headphone like HE500 or LCD2 etc.

Totally agree with you !   I've been tried more than 10 kinds cable on them   I think ALO 16 reference is the best!

I am sure your hearing got no problem man, my he6 has been used over 2K hours, compare with new one it is warm and smooth but still a bright sounds signature headphone I worry about the treble issue just because I am a Metal fans , so you will know what I am talking about if you are fans too ;)

Damn...M7 sounds warm but still balance and 100% dead precise at all ...

BTW I customized the Master 7 's CAST connections, I let KingWa to replaced the initial mini XLR into a pair of normal XLR and I will do the same to the Master 8 So that I can use my Nordost Tyr XLR cable to improve the musical under fully CAST connection ,it just takes me about 30 dollars...

Actually , I spend much more time on HE6. Frankly , LCD2 is always make me down although I still keep it and always expecting it will surprise me in the next system update ... So this time is the last chance I give to it . When compare with LCD3 which is coming soon, I will make the choice...

I guess KINGWA got his own HE6 when he design Master 6 because there is not any other headphones needs so much power to handle it , am I right ;)

I am glad to hear that ! I have modified my HE6 by put three rubber ring into each side of the leather ear pads , I found this small change could enhance the body of imaging , the range of sound field both vertical & lateral way obviously and smooth HE6 treble at the same time. Dont worry...

Yes , I think so. IMO temperature is a very important definitive factor for a Class-A gear sounds ,so I never turn them off

Well...The taming sibilance on vocals is bother me, I choice the EF6 to drive HE6 just because the vocals are smooth and emotional
