Wow, NO ONE has had this happen to them?

What's the best way to fix the cord?  The wires to the individual headphones have lost most of the plastic jacketing.  Now the copper and red wires are starting to fray.  The main cord is fine; I only have problems after the plastic splitter thing.  If anyone is interested, yes, they were made...

Mine still sound good and were made in Japan.  The cord however, is going to ****.  Did the remove pointless cover mod, or whatever it is called for more bass.  I think I like the Bose in ear slightly better, but the E888s always stay in my ear during heavy activity/sweating...

So it sounds like the Bose Triports are similar to the Sony E888s. Can you use fomies with the Tiports instead of the gels it comes with if I don't like them? I'm asking because some how my dog managed to start chewing on my modded E888-LP
