Sure. Use whatever gain you like. In the end it doesn't really matter.- brydon10

Sennheiser HD650 & Massdrop HD6XX Impressions Thread
I use low gain on my magni 3+ with my 6XX, it's enough volume for me with still good headroom. Low gain will typically will have lower distortion numbers, so if the volume is loud enough for you I'd stick with low gain.- brydon10

Pictures of your computer rigs! Post them here!
CharlesC - I know the uDAC-2 isn't the best headphone amp/dac, but I also really enjoy mine (only problems I've had are clicks and pops but that's probably not my the dac)- brydon10

AKG Q701 paired with uDac2
Do you guys think the Q701 would be decently paired with udac2, or am I asking too much power out of this little amp? I am thinking of finally getting my dream headphones (q701) but I don't have much money to spend on a nice amp and already have the udac2. Thanks for your comments.- brydon10

AKG K240 Studio - Velvet pads?
I live in Canada and I am wondering where I can order the velvet pads (the ones that come with the mkii) for my studios, without getting ripped off. I've been using the leatherette ones that are included for a long time but they get sweaty and aren't super comfortable. I'm also open to other pad...- brydon10

Headset - can hear everything but vocals?
Ok, I just tried it with my ipod and the only way I can really describe the sound is like being at the back of a concert hall. And that's not just vocals, it's everything. It is very quiet and weird. I think maybe the headset is just shot, idk. Any ideas?- brydon10

Headset - can hear everything but vocals?
I've had this gaming headset (Razer Carcharias) for about a year now, and all of a sudden I can't hear vocals anymore, through skype or music. Well I can hear them very very quietly, not hardly enough to use. Anyone have an idea on how I can fix this and what the problem is? The warranty is...- brydon10

Need headphones, $100 budget (will buy used)
Sounds like you are already set on the dt 770, the 250ohm will likely be best for you. I just recently got a pair of AKG K 240 Studios, $98 new on amazon. Semi-open can, very comfortable. Not super strong bass, but present. Good for all genres imo, unless you want tons of bass for hip-hop but I...- brydon10

Headphones Movies/Gaming/Music Low Budget
Just get the DG. And imo I'd go with AD700s if you are going to watch a lot of movies and do a lot of gaming. They might have weak bass, but it is still there and you get used to it. Worst case scenario, you can't stand the ad700s and you have to send them back, but I doubt that will happen...- brydon10

Classical music headphones | M50s not so good
OK so I got my AKG K 240 Studios today. I am really surprised at how good they sound with my udac2 (much better than my soundcard). The bass becomes very controlled with the udac2 vs kind of muddy with my SB Live! 24 bit. The bass is not as punchy as the M50s but it is still present and sounds...- brydon10

The first song you listen to when you get new headphones
I'm somewhat new to classical and have never heard of this piece. I see that the full symphony is called "The planets", sounds interesting. I'm going to check it out. Any recommendation on a good recording? Quote:- brydon10

Need a headphone dac/amp advice
Audinst hud-mx1 - $179.00? I hear it has lots of power to drive hungry cans, maybe someone can elaborate on it paired with 650s. Based on reviews I've read, that's probably what I'd get. Also good for future upgrades, like a stand alone amp paired with the audinst as a DAC. The e7+e9 combo just...- brydon10

Ad700 or Superlux 668b
If I were you, I would get the AD700 and see for yourself if the bass is enough. It sounds like they will be good for your taste. It's not like they have no bass at all.- brydon10

Best Headphones for Rush?
"There were tons of guys that were licking each other's basses." Every RUSH fan needs to see that movie. "I Love You Man" Good choice on the cans. I use M50s for RUSH, it's good but probably could be better.- brydon10
