The Audio Technica M50 studio monitor thread
After much debating I am finally wearing my M50s, I was worried about their isolation, but I am so relieved, they isolate so very well and the bass hits VERY HARD. So happy and pleased with you guys helping me. I was debating the Ultrasones but I decided to stay with the ATs since my last pair...- rebel7

Leng, from what I have read and researched, an ipod will drive them just fine. I am excited to get my pair, I plan to use an Ipod as my primary source as well.- rebel7

ATH-M50 vs ATH-ANC7B Help!
Thank you so much bear, finally someone backs up the NC, now this makes it harder for me to choose. I am a college student and sound isolation is huge. I do listen to a lot of bass driven music, but I also listen to a lot of music with vocals. Is the bass present, obviously not as big as the...- rebel7

ATH-M50 vs ATH-ANC7B Help!
I own a step down from it, the PRO5MS (like 60$ right now), no one seems to know much about it, I just want to make sure that these will sound better and not just sound the same. The only real difference is that the M50s have a bigger driver (45mm compared to 40mm). There are very small...- rebel7

ATH-M50 vs ATH-ANC7B Help!
I am on edge about both of these, I want good isolation, but I also want good sound quality. I am also going to be using these on an unamped Ipod classic, so I want to make sure that they sound good with just my Ipod. I listen to a lot of bass driven music, so bass is a BIG deal, I also don't...- rebel7

Shure SRH750DJ vs. Ultrasone HFI-580 vs. M-50
Thank you, how do the M-50s sound unamped with just a regular ipod? Can anyone give me insight as to how the HFI-580s sound unamped with an ipod?- rebel7

Shure SRH750DJ vs. Ultrasone HFI-580 vs. M-50
I am currently debating these three phones for my ipod classic. Which would offer me the best and biggest bass, but also the cleanest highs and mids. I listen to a lot of bass driven music, so I don't mind if its shaking my skull. Does the ultrasone surround sound really work? Does the frequency...- rebel7

Will I Hear the Difference?
Right now I am considering buying the ATH M50s. I currently have the ATH PRO5 MS, and am wanting an upgrade, here are links to both headphones. I do not use an amp, I simply use my ipod. I want to know if the M-50s will produce better sound, clarity, bass and isolation than the ones I have now...- rebel7

$150 and Under, I need some help.
Will the M-50s be a step up from the ones I have now which are Audio Technica ATH-PRO5 MS? Here as link the only thing that seems to be different between the two is the driver on the M-50 is bigger, 45mm compared to 40mm, and the the impedance is lower by 2ohms, and the DB is lower by 4. Will...- rebel7

Eric, thank you so much, very relieving, I have an Ipod Classic, and I worried that the M-50s would not get enough power.- rebel7

Okay, I am going to go with the M-50s for sure now. After reading all the other posts on M-50 love, I should give them a try for sure. Does anyone use them with their ipod here? How do they sound? Does the Ipod power them well?- rebel7

If it were you, would you take the Audio Technicas or the Sonys? I listen to a lot of bass driven music, but I also like good highs and mids, not just all bass.- rebel7

Is there really anything wrong with the M-50's though? I mean, from what I've read, people really love them. I listen to bass heavy music, but I don't really want an over powering bass, just a present one. The reviews on the M-50 said that they can suffice a basshead, so I would expect them to...- rebel7

Hi, I have been looking into some new cans to replace my ATH- PRO5 MS. I am looking at the ATH-M50, and and also the ATH A700, but I am open to others. I listen to a lot of drum and bass and reggae, along with dubstep, trance and some rock. I listen to a lot of bass driven music, but I don't...- rebel7

HDJ-2000 vs. DJ-1
My budget is $100-$200. I like mostly everything, recently I have been listening to a lot of reggae, but also, trance, dubstep, drum and bass and electronic. Very heavily bass influenced music. Would you recommend these two headphones for use with just an ipod?- rebel7

HDJ-2000 vs. DJ-1
Hi, I am currently looking for a new pair of headphones as portables to my Ipod Classic. I am split between the Pioneer HDJ-2000s and the Ultrasone DJ-1s. I am not a dj, just a college student that listens to music all day and wants very quality sounding phones. Some people have told me...- rebel7
