Right now I am considering buying the ATH M50s. I currently have the ATH PRO5 MS, and am wanting an upgrade, here are links to both headphones. I do not use an amp, I simply use my ipod. I want to know if the M-50s will produce better sound, clarity, bass and isolation than the ones I have now. Could you be able to tell just by the specs? or experience? If the M-50s would not, what would be a good isolating headphone that could be powered by my ipod. Will a bigger driver improve the sound of the headphones as well? The Ipod is a classic, latest generation, 80gb. I like bass driven music, but don't want an overpowering amount. Thank you!

I have the M50's and am blown away by the sound quality. I read all the great reviews and they were spot on. Unfortunately I haven't listened to your current pair, but I have a feeling you won't regret getting the M50's. I just ordered a pair for my son. Unbelievably I just read a review of a guy saying the sound of the M50 is very close to the sound of the 1000.00 Denon AH D7000's. Good luck.

The M50s are one of the best if not the best price/performance value for a headphone. Amazing accuracy.
