How to check if a flac file is real?

Another method is to convert the track from Left Right Stereo to Mid Side Stereo, then isolating the Side Channel alone. A quick way is to grab those simple vocal remover plugins, which essentially does the same thing. The side channel will tend reveal compression artifacts much more than the...

    Difficulty of blind testing

Wonderful wavoman. I think its attitudes like yours that will push a more methodical approach to evaluating audio components. Really look forward to your conclusion. Edit: I just re read your post, are you intending to also listen to an unknown X for some time and identify it?

    Difficulty of blind testing

I think one major problem with DBT advocates is their tone. DBT is NOT the universal answer to "Are there no audible differences between cables" or "Are expensive cables a waste of money" or worse "Are expensive cable buying audiphiles stupid". DBT is the answer to "Can I hear audible...

Can anyone help a friend of mine?

From my limited understanding of audio, I kinda think that soundstage is a result of headphone openness. Say for a speaker setup, the sound from the left channel does go into your right ear, and vice versa and this results in the sound being heard as originating from an area between the left and...

Static/crackling sound in right earbud : Why?

Question 2, I highly suspect your audio files to be the culprit. Do try a stereo channel reversal to isolate that fault. I use winamp, and under the DSP/Effects section theres a stereo channel reversal preset that allows you to do that. Maybe the other head-fiers may be able to advise you if you...

    Ne-7M Problems

Its likely dirty contacts accidentally shorting the remote button signal pin to ground. I think you are using an iphone, as 1 press/short will stop the music, and 2 or 3 consecutive press/shorts will advance to the next track or previous track respectively.

It seems like more music is audible from the right side

Use a software to swap left and right channels on your source, does the other side become louder. If so its inherent in the songs. If not, wear the left earbud in your right ear and vice versa. Does the other side become louder. If so its your equipment. If not, its you.

Static/crackling sound in right earbud : Why?

To rule out source, use some computer software to reverse left and right and see if the distortion changes sides. I doubt its termination issues, most termination issues are more due to cable motion rather than certain specific parts of a song. To rule out drivers, you can try reversing...

Hmm, my olives do not stay on as well. When i first put olives on, it was so loose and thus I did not put it in my ears at all. My complys stay on fine tho, as i think the rubber tubing inside the comply is more grippy. But my olives have been sitting on the shelve for quite some time, so I...
