hello. i would like to get a recommendation for some headphones. i own a pair of swan MKIII speakers and while i love them, i also love my music loud sometimes and where i'm living doesn't really play fair with that. so while i may sell the speakers, i at least would like a headphone setup that...- psiness

Dedicated Head Amps vs. Cheap Old Marantz Integrated
but are the receivers an adequate alternative to amping headphones or are you better off just buying a headphone amp to begin with? does it all just depend on the headphone? i'm not talking hard to drive like LCD-2 or HD800 or anything. just a regular mid-tier 'phone.- psiness

Dedicated Head Amps vs. Cheap Old Marantz Integrated
i think some receivers are just good for that. retro ones, anyway. i don't know if all of them are that great for them. i don't have any hard to drive headphones to test it on. it would be nice info to know, though.- psiness

Philips O'Neill Stretch Over-Ear Headphones Question
found this thread late so pardon me bumping it, but i'm pretty sure a lot of head-fiers just see a name and immediately write it off, same as skullcandy even though aviators are not as bad as they're made out to be. Quote:- psiness

Nope. The Skullcandy Aviators are junk after all.
i've never had any problems with my aviators, be it the cable or the sound. it all sounds great to me. the bass isn't uncontrollable, in fact, it's the least amount of bass i've ever heard in a SC headphone. it's there if you want it, not if you don't. definitely has a punch. the rest of the...- psiness

Skullcandy Aviator appreciation
Quote: Quote: how can you have an opinion on something that you've never tried? the aviators are not your typical bass heavy skullcandy type of headphone. they're less bass heavy than my JVC-HA750's, that's for sure, however, the beauty of these phones is that if you...- psiness
