I'd agree with that. The HD650 and the AKG K501 are two headphones I'd never part with.

Anyone else hoping the similarity to the K340 is significant?     If it's just another variation on the K/Q 7XX driver this will be a major let down

Isn't this a well known problem with the 990 Pro's, I think there's a review on Amazon UK where someone says they had the same problem happen three times with different 'phones and you often see Pro's crop up on ebay with the left driver not working.   I think the wires into the cup are...

Actually it just struck me; do the memory pads on the 65th Anniversary 702 use the same mechanism? Mmm... I wonder how they would work on the K501
